Beautiful and spacious apartment that suited out get away perfectly! While we were able to walk to the waterfront and Stanley park, the apartment itself was also a nice place to relax and chill.
Great place, perfect for our family of 4. Had everything we needed...everything was so well labelled!! Close to great food options. Gastown is such a good area to walk around in. Parking was a bit far away, but easy to get to. Thanks again!
Fantastic property run by professionals. Would recommend this property. Should be noted that the circular stairs to the main bedroom might be tricky for some people as they narrow and shallow. Not a complaint but should be a consideration if you're someone who is steady on their feet.
Mei-Ling is a wonderful host and was available and responsive. She was very helpful and accommodating when one of us thought that they had lost their passport and needed proof at the last minute that her name was on the reservation. A detailed guide and instruction information was available both online and on paper. The apartment was clean and spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen stocked with all necessary cookware and utensils. The upstairs loft suite is very nice with lots of space, good lighting, comfortable bed, and plenty of counter space. There are skylights with blinds to block the early morning sun and shutters for privacy and separation of the upstairs and downstairs spaces. One problem is is that the downstairs bedroom is very small – the floor space is almost entirely taken up by the bed and there is hardly enough room to walk around. Another is that it is was very hard to control the heat and we were sometimes much too hot.The listing helpfully noted that the nearby eastern and southern neighborhoods have many homeless people and drug users living on the street. We were able to avoid the most impacted areas and to go to places throughout the city. It might be helpful if the host attached a printable readable map, attached to your correspondence to help them navigate.
The loft apartment was a great stay. We were a family of 4, two adults and two kids and found the loft to be spacious, comfortable and accommodate all our needs. We loved the classic gastown look of exposed brick and long windows with all updated features in the kitchen, bathrooms etc. Everything was very nice.
Fabulous property in a great location! There was so much to see and do in Vancouver! Lots of great food, including right across the street! Perfect place to stay when visiting!
We really enjoyed our weekend here. The space itself is exactly as pictured, clean, and well-maintained. That said, there are a few things worth noting. The surrounding area wasn’t our favorite, with a noticeable amount of homelessness and poor street conditions nearby, which did impact how comfortable I felt coming and going, and did not want to leave the property alone. Inside the building, there was also an unpleasant smell in the hallway but not inside the unit itself. Noise was another factor, especially on weekends. The bar downstairs stays open late with live music, and it can be very loud until 3am. The hosts do provide earplugs and eye masks, which is a thoughtful touch, but as light sleepers, we found it very challenging. The bar’s bright sign also shines a red light into the loft bed area at night. The spiral staircase is beautiful but it is also very slippery, especially if you’re carrying luggage. Overall, the interior is beautiful and true to the listing, and the hosts have made an effort to create a welcoming space despite the location. They had amazing communication and were very transparent with us leading up to and throughout the stay.

Hi Steph, we are very surprised to hear about this now. Considering you left us a 5-star review though, we’re assuming that you still had a wonderful stay with us! We just wished you communicated any of this during your stay. We definitely could have helped. The entire hallway was painted a week before your stay so I’m assuming the smell was because of that. We’re also sorry you felt unsafe in the area. Gastown is Vancouver's number 1 tourist destination. And the amount of crime against people is negligible. Homelessness is a problem city wide. It's rampant up and down the west coast of both Canada and the US. While it occasionally may not be aesthetically pleasing, the area is still very safe.
We advertise that this area can be noisy on weekends as there are numerous bars and restaurants that are open late Friday and Saturday night. Our suite has extensive sound control so it does not bother most guests, but we don’t recommend booking weekends for very light sleepers. Our suite is also equipped with blinds that block any streetlight, including business signs. Thanks for your feedback, Steph! We appreciate it.
I really can't say enough about this host, the location and the loft. My husband and I stayed for 8 nights during the JFL comedy festival in Feb/26. We wanted to take in a few shows in Gastown, but also found the location made a perfect hub to walk or quick Uber toStanley Park, the Pink Floyd show at the aquarium, train back to Airport, many exceteras. So many restaurants a few steps away! The loft is exquisite! Impeccably clean, thoughtful kitchen tools and supplies. Crazy comfy bed. Loved the wood stove. Responsiveness was consistently timely (and lovely). We felt completely at home, which is a big statement for me in someone else's space. Also, I was left feeling like we'd met straight forward, people who have such pride in their place, and just want you to love it as much as they do. Success!
Very well laid out- functional- attractive and comfortable - clear instructions on how to use all facilities- all made for a hassle-free enjoyable stay!
The loft was perfect for our time in Vancouver with lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Our host was quick to respond to our questions before and during our stay.
