Very beautiful place to stay, my family and I enjoyed everything that was offered and very scenic great for pictures and overall a great trip with the family
The house was very comfortable and exactly as described. The back deck was a lovely place to just hang out and enjoy watching the wildlife on the river. Very quiet and peaceful getaway.
Lovely location, great cabin, and easy check-in. This was a wonderful stay between the good service and the place itself. We had two lovely evening fires and enjoyed watching eagles and deer on the deck. Each bedroom was lovely and the design of the place is great. Would definitely return.
The Peregrine's Perch cabin is beautifully located on a ridge overlooking the Potomac. It is located with close proximity of a grocery store and many restaurants. It is also with a few miles of the C & O Canal trail which was the main reason for our visit. The cabin is nicely furnished, and the kitchen is very well equipment with everything you will need for your stay. The hosts Mountain Mama Vacation Homes was wonderful and very responsive to an A/C problem we experience on the first nice of our stay. The issue was resolved the next day. We didn't find the home as clean and well-kept as many VRBO properties in which we have stayed in the past. There were many dead bugs on the floors but on the main floor living room, kitchen and in the basement area by the washer & dryer. Some of the furniture is stained and one dining room chairs was broken. The blinds in the upstairs king bedroom are broken as are some of the ones in the living room. We realize the house in located in the woods, but the outside stairs, porches and decks were covered in sticks and debris and should have been swept when the house was cleaned. The road leading to the house were overgrown with weeds and vines which over hug the road, and several areas were starting to wash out. (The road was mowed the day prior to our departure.) As a vacation homeowner myself, these are items I would expect to be addressed before any of my guests arrive for a stay at my home.
What an absolute great location overlooking the Potomac river. The deck overlooking the river provided many views of nature with dear playing on the islands with eagles and hawks flying by. Very roomy cabin the first floor is laid out perfectly for relaxing with the family.
Property was the perfect location for our stay visiting Gettysburg, Antietam and Harper’s Ferry. Plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Large kitchen and great patio space overloooking the Potomac River. Only drawback was the AC would not allow to be turned under 72 degrees which made for restless nights as daytime temps were close to 100 and nighttime high 80’s.

Hey David, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! We set the lower limit of the thermostat to 72 degrees during the heat wave we've had of 95+ degree highs only to keep the system from freezing up and breaking on our guests. Residential systems are not designed to have the thermostat 20+ degrees lower than the outside temperature. But 72 degrees should be comfortable, and setting it lower does not make the house cool any slower. Hopefully the next time won't be during a record heat wave!
Stayed in Mountain Mama’s cabin for three nights with my brother to share some precious time. Our cabin far exceeded expectations…clean, well decorated, river views watching bald eagles fly by ….all excellent. Mountain Mama’s had excellent communication and accessibility..even their own app. All their houses look amazing. Will return again.
Enjoyed our stay and the view was excellent, trees were in full color for fall. Communication with property managers was prompt and courteous. House was well maintained and clean. Appreciated the coffee. Suggestion would be to have leaves swept from deck before arrival or provide a broom to sweep leaves from deck and porch. Would definitely recommend and will rebook if back in the area.

Beautiful view
This place really didn't fit the neighborhood. It was further to Harpers Ferry then I hoped. The house was beautiful and quiet. There wasn't much to do in the area. But if you want a relaxing quiet place then this is the place.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Peregrine's Perch - Cliffhanger! The view is the gem of this place! Loved the coziness of the cabin. The kitchen was fantastic and seemed recently updated. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The only downside was that there was no shower/bath on main floor. I would highly recommend this place especially for scrap book enthusiasts like us. Plenty of space to work, relax, plays some games, and reconnect with friends. would defnitely go back.
It was a wonderful time with my friends ❤️
We had breakfast and lunch outside with a beautiful view of the river. Very peaceful surroundings with birds singing and fresh air. The house was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. I loved how everything is so organized bowls, plates, glasses and pans. Easy access for everyone.
We felt spoiled with the golden forks, spoons and knives. We cooked and used the stove (fireplace ?)
If you like to relax and if you enjoy nature this is the perfect place for you.

Bug Spray Needed!
Checkin in process was good. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a swarm of flying bugs and spiders/spider webs, we could barely get to the door to get inside. Once inside the decor was charming but I could focus well enough to enjoy the experience because my family and I were constantly looking over our shoulders for spiders, spider webs, and flying bugs, our comforter on our bed did not appear clean (I recommend bringing your own blankets. Especially if you are traveling with kids. The bath soaps appeared to be Dove, but the bottles were filled with another brand of soap (bring your own). The kitchen facilities are standard. I recommend going to Walmart prior to arrival because the drive is a little far. Bring a lighter if you want to use the fire pit and try to get back indoors before the sun sets, this helps a lot with the flying bugs….they tend to warm the doorway.

This property was nicely redone with a modern mountain feel. The place wad 3 great bedrooms, a nice kitchen, and a comfortable living room and kitchen table to socialize with our friends. The view was amazing and provide a nice back drop while we e joyed our morning coffee. My friend and I ran the JFK 50 miler and this home was in a great location! The only thing we didn’t use were the outside amenities, deck and fire pit, because of the low temps and race, but the set up looked great for a staff with some warmer weather. We might need to come back and check it out again!
Communication with the owners was quick and easy throughout the entire process. Thank you Mountain Mama for great place to stay and rental experience!
Delightful getaway close by yet removed from the bustle. Experience was even better than described, perched artfully along rock outcroppings above the Potomac. Delicious setting, comfy beds, cozy and very spacious. Loved the deck, the kitchen, the Vermont stove, and the public spaces. Also appreciated the honest assessment of the property by Mountain Mama and their attentiveness! We’ll be back 🍁5 stars!
