House was very clean, there are a lot of rules and notes in every room, also a microwave in the kitchen would have been helpful.

Hello Beatrice, After being a host for three years I have noted the things that guests should be reminded to do or not to do. These notes are important. For example if the power goes off what to do and then friendly reminders to be aware of things that could be dangerous or damage the house. Most guests appreciate the guidance, and rarely some comment. I usally ask guests to read the amenities and house policies pages before I accept their booking request. I will take note to mention that a microwave is not provided (if it has not previously been mentioned). I found the last minute request to have hairdressers come to the house a bit much.
This place is stunning. Very bright and spacious. The pictures do not do it justice. Cannot wait for our next stay. The host was friendly and replied quickly to messages.

Thank you! It has been just wonderful to have hosted your family.
Our stay was great! The place was spotless and very comfortable. Susan was an excellent host, who was quick to respond and very accommodating. The fresh cucumbers were also a lovely touch.
Property was beautiful - very clean and was exactly what we were expecting. Very close to Perth and Smiths Falls. I would definitely recommend this house. Very peaceful and quiet.
great place to enjoy peace and quite. house located in a beautiful rural country side neighborhood and far away from any noisy traffic. house itself is pristine and welcoming with beautiful scenery visible from great room.
Susan is a wonderful host who pays attention to details and makes sure you have everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Wake up to a clean, sunny, open space where you have all you need to make a good meal and then relax in this cozy home with a book or crossword. There's a nice trail on the property that you can use. It's a short car trip to Perth or Ottawa or just take in the natural loveliness of Lanark County. And if you're a neatnik like me, you will be more than happy with the cleanliness of this home. This is our second time at Teal Sky and it most certainly won't be our last. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Thank you, for this lovely review, Andrea. It was just lovely to host you.
Wonderful property. The river was my personal favourite spot on the property. In the morning, I saw a gorgeous deep grazing in the wildflower field directly outside the main, big window.
My partner and I spent a lovely four days in 5his impeccable country cottage. The natural setting in a rewilding field beside a forest and near a river afforded an abundance of wildlife -- from swallow tail butterflies, to trout, grouse, and nearly dozen mushroom varietals.
Property and building were absolutely beautiful. The owner seems lovely. We saw 4 deer grazing outside while we were finishing up a late supper. However, bring your own towels. We casually read the listing and it lists towels in included amenities. Those are just hand towels. If you scan further down it tells you that you should bring your own bath towels! Another thing of note is the lengthy list of rules that the owner provides. I get it, they want to keep the property in as good a condition as possible for a long time. Still, it does detract from the enjoyment of the stay.

Hi Jarvis, I need to word our house policies so that guests are not overwhelmed. Exhaustively, if house requests are not mentioned, things in the house deteriorate quickly. Floors, window ledges, and new furniture are not easy to replace and guests like clean, proper things. It is through experience that the notes have been compiled. As hosts we have to preserve our investment for years to come.and also for future generations to enjoy.
Lovely property, well appointed with comfortable gathering places and beds. The walk to the river is beautiful.
While there is no wifi we were able to access data well enough.
Thanks Suzan

My friend and I enjoyed our stay in this house in the countryside. So peaceful and quiet. A great place to disconnect and relax. If you can handle no wifi and limited cell service, or you’re actively seeking a digital detox, this place fits the bill. Perfect site for a retreat.

About the host
Hosted by Susan Tannahill
I enjoy gardening, art, music, nature, my pets, and working on projects. I have worked as a vegan sous chef. I like to correspond with guests before they book and am available to answer questions. I do not live on-site but in the area. I always hope Teal Sky will inspire and help guests to reflect and relax.
Why they chose this property
Teal Sky is splendid in all seasons, with the vibrancy of the maples in spring, summer and autumn. Wild flowers and golden rod grace the meadows in summer with the path to the river fragrant and wild. The sun dazzles through the large south-facing windows on winter's blustery days. This property always has a vista to gaze at that calms the soul and awakens the senses.
What makes this property unique
Teal Sky has large windows overlooking the pastoral field and groves of trees, and the cheerful house is spacious, quaint, yet elegant. The 400 ft. walk to the small river is vibrant with the essence of Eastern Ontario, as are the forests and fields.
