The house is lovely but there are train tracks behind the property in very close proximity to the house. Trains come frequently, on average 2- 3 per hour. If you are a light sleeper, this could create some problems as it did for me. Other guests didn’t seem to be bothered by it.

We’re sorry to hear that the nearby train activity affected your stay. While the train schedule and the home’s proximity to the tracks are outside of our control, we do our best to clearly disclose this information in the listing so guests can plan accordingly. We also provide white noise machines in each bedroom for added comfort. We hope you were still able to enjoy the home and experience all that Port Clinton has to offer.
Owner was wonderful to work with. House was great - very comfortable with nice small touches left for us. We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely rent this house again.
Such a cute home – we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was very close to the water and all the attractions we were hoping to visit. The only drawback was the nearby train noise, but we got used to it quickly and barely noticed it after a while.
It was a nice place with new appliances and very clean.

Great Place For A Weekend Stay At Lake
This was a great place to stay for our weekend at the lake. We were in town for a wedding and the house was close to everything. It had everything we needed and more than enough space. It was a short walk to downtown Port Clinton and the lake. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a place close to Port Clinton, PIB, Catawba Island.
We came for a long weekend and had a nice stay! Kitchen is sufficiently appointed, enough towels/sheets/blankets for all, quiet neighborhood. We noticed the train but never heard a whistle/horn, so it really wasn't too disruptive at all. A/C downstairs and window units in each bedroom. Enjoyed the beach just a couple blocks from the house, as well as restaurants, ice cream, and specialty coffee. Lovely!

This home is beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. Very well-appointed, providing many conveniences that are not always typical in rentals, making our stay 'like home' and hassle-free. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided. Coffee drinkers will appreciate that both types of brewers are available. The beach is a short 4 block walk, or there's a convenient parking lot if walking is not your thing. Pretty front porch and nice rear patio with fire pit. Our host, Kyle, was responsive and great to work with. Sweetwater is pretty sweet 😊

Stairs
Nice and as described but the stairs had little extra pieces of carpet that slid half way off every time we went up and down them. They were already very steep and this made it extra dangerous for falls. Also, I would have been much happier paying the average charge listed here. We paid nearly double. It was a short walk to the Jet Express so we had a great day at Put n Bay!
Charming house with spacious layout. The bathrooms are especially large. A little hot in the bedrooms, even with AC units in all the windows. Also, note the very close location to the world's most active train line. Turned out to be a huge hit with our kids, but definitely more noise than we were anticipating. Backyard private and easy for kids to run around or have a campfire. May want to bring a gate for the stairs as the descent is quite steep for kiddos. Good communication with the host and everything was as described and in working order. Would stay here again if we are in the area.

The house was extremely moldy/musty smelling even with windows opened. The carpet in the bedroom areas had huge stains in all rooms and hallway. The house was not clean. We cut our trip short as we didn’t want to stay another night. The host did give a small compensation. The location is good for what we did but the home needs work.

The property was great! Nice close place to the Lake and Put In Bay Jet Express access. We had everything we needed, and the house was very nice! There was one thing I found in the upstairs bedroom after pulling off the sheets as the checkout instructions kind of grossed me out. The sheets underneath the far back bedroom were dirty from another family. It looked like someone put 2 sets of sheets which looked clean to me but underneath was another set (dirty). Would suggest the cleaning crew remove all bedding to be sure. With the amount of extra charged for cleaning I should not have found this. Otherwise, the place was perfect. I hate to complain, and I would not have noticed until I removed and placed all the bedding when we left.
