Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this conservation awareness.
Heating
There are three different heating options:
baseboard electric heat adjusted by the wall thermostats,
heat pump - the most comfortable and efficient and works by remote control; and propane fireplace available for short-term use. To start, ensure the pilot light is lit; if not, follow instructions hanging form fireplace. Make sure that the switch on the right side of the thermostat on the wall next to coffee maker is set to “on”. Fireplace temperature needs to be a couple of degrees higher than room temperature. Fan will come on approximately 5 minutes after lit, to circulate heat.
** Given high energy costs, please be cognizant of energy efficiency.
** When leaving, kindly turn DOWN all thermostats to 10 degrees Celsius, and turn off Heat Pump/ Air Conditioning.

Compost
There is a compost pail below the counter in the cupboard to the left of the sink available for use. When filled, it can be emptied in large black bin outside next to the small shed. When putting the cover back, please ensure that the cover is secured by the log so bin cover doesn’t blow away.
Recycling
Plastic, cans, paper, cardboard is recycled in the area. Please rinse and place items in blue plastic bags. Boxes must be broken down before bagging. Full bags go in large bin outside next to front door.
