The property was lovely, host was great. Lots of space, great well stocked kitchen with everything labeled made it so easy to find. Appreciated the dog crate and toys and all the attention to details in the place. We will keep it in our list of favs for the future!
We visited this home with our favorite travel buddies. Two couples in town to explore the area and Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It was a great set-up for two couples, two families or a large family. We liked the set-up of two separate bedroom wings which gave us privacy. Lots of areas to spread out and enjoy this beautiful and well appointed home. We enjoyed the multiple living rooms, the kitchen, dining area for evening meals, the hot tub, and view. It was about 30 minutes to an hour to visit most of the sights in the Asheville region.
Lovely property but disappointed with several amenities that influenced our decision to choose this home. Reservations were made far in advance for a family gathering, with folks flying or driving from out of state. Upon arrival we were looking forward to chilling in the hotub after a long day of travel. Tub was very dirty and had debris and algae on the walls of the hotub. The outside dining area that looked beautiful in the picture. The cushions that were soaking wet and filthy… they were torn, rotting, molded and unable to be used. I reached out to the owners and the communication back was unfriendly and not helpful. I was told that “ you can’t make everyone happy” and that I was basically ungrateful. It’s unfortunate that an owner reacted so rudely to their guest. If you’re in the hospitality industry it’s your responsibility to make sure that your guests have a warm and welcoming stay. They don’t like answering questions … seemed put out and went on that they did us a big favor by letting our daughter in a few hours early. No guest had recently been their prior to our stay obviously. I don’t think these owners are local and they are counting/relying on a cleaning company or management company to maintain this property. Someone should have completed a walkthrough to make certain these simple things were prepared and available for use. Rotting wet cushions are unacceptable as is a hot tub that no one was comfortable using. Fair stay, unpleasant communication. Thumbs down

Thank you for your review. We take guest feedback seriously; however, we do feel it’s important to clarify several points for accuracy.
This home has maintained a consistent 5-star rating on VRBO for nearly four years, along with over 30 PERFECT 5-star reviews on the other major platform. It is also our personal second home, and we are highly invested in its upkeep and guest experience.
Regarding the hot tub, we promptly refunded the heating fee as a courtesy when it was raised. That said, our cleaning team provided time-stamped photos taken immediately prior to your arrival showing the spa in clear, clean condition and ready for use.
Similarly, the outdoor cushions referenced are all-weather cushions. Following your stay, we personally inspected the property and confirmed they are intact and in good condition. During your visit, the area experienced particularly cold, wet, and windy weather, which likely impacted outdoor usability.
We also want to note that our cleaning team consistently receives excellent feedback, and the home is routinely inspected. Based on documentation and our own follow-up, the concerns described do not reflect the verified condition of the property at check-in.
We regret that you felt dissatisfied and that our communication did not meet your expectations. However, we stand behind the condition of our home and the standards we maintain, which are consistently reflected in our long-standing 5-star reviews.
Simply incredible. The home is absolutely gorgeous & peaceful with everything you may need for your stay. Michael & Rikke were incredible hosts and we look forward to staying in one of their homes again. Truly magical!
