About this property
Cabin for family, friends or groups!
We built this cabin ourselves back in the early seventies and designed it to accommodate a lot of friends and family. It is our second home and want guests that will respect and treat it like it was their own.
Downstairs has a bedroom with a king size bed and an open kitchen/dining/living area with a wood burning fireplace.
Upstairs has a small bedroom with a king size bed, a small full bath and a large common area with 10 fold down bunks.
Please bring sleeping bag or blankets for the kids or extra guests.
There is no cable, only a smart TV connected to our wifi and your apps.
Our property backs up to thousands of acres of great hiking, skiing and exploring.
We do not accept instant booking because we want to know reason for your visit to the area and our cabin.
Cabin instructions
• You will be given a code number for either the lockbox or the electronic deadbolt.
• Set furnace heat to a reasonable comfort. Be sure to set it back to 55 when done.
• To open and close the motorized bear doors, use the paddle switch adjacent to the exterior light switches. Please close doors when leaving for the day or for more than a couple of hours.
Fireplace instructions:
• When you arrive, shovel ashes into container to left of fireplace, only when completely cold.
• Don't try to start fire with the furnace going. The furnace creates a vacuum so the fire will not draw properly and ends up smoking out the cabin.
• Lever to the far right needs to be in the up position to create the most draw. After fire has been burning a good 45 minutes then it can be adjusted down to lessen the rate of burn.
• Always have fireplace door closed with handle locked and pointed away from glass.
• NEVER put hot ashes into the ash container provided. Leave them for the next person to put away cold.
Cleaning instructions:
• Strip the bed of sheets and pillow cases and leave in a pile on top of the bed that was used. (Unless requested to put in the washing machine)
• Wipe down all counter tops and tables.
• Clean and put away all dishes.
• Use the trash compactor for all trash and recycle items. Place trash in the plastic can provided in the bear proof trash bin out near the road upon leaving or anytime during your stay. Never leave garbage outside or out of the bear bin at any time.
Leaving instructions:
• Close metal roll down metal bear doors.
• Turn off all lights except front porch.
• Check furnace setting. Set to 55.
• Lock front door, slide bars over and put key back in lockbox.
• Please check out by 10am. (This allows time for cleaning before other guests arrive)
