We couldn't have had a better stay, the pictures do not do this cabin justice! Our group was 14 girls and we fit comfortably! We loved the front and back decks and the BBQ. The view from the decks was absolutely gorgeous. Host was very responsive and kind. I would absolutely stay again!
Great house for large group, lots of beds and the game room is a nice plus! Exactly as advertised in the listing and good proximity to multiple ski resorts. Safeway nearby for groceries. Definitely would stay again!
The property is close to town and other amenities. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The game room and hot tub kept everyone occupied and cozy on the snow day. The heater worked great and warmed the house up fast. The fireplace either wasn’t operational or was unclear on how to use it.
Our group had a great time in the house. It was clean, tons of space and the hot tub was great. Would definitely stay again and it’s right between northstar and kings beach so perfect spot.
We had a group of 15 stay for a ski weekend and it was perfect! Everyone had a bed and the pool and hot tub were awesome!! Also the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies. Would definitely stay again
This is my second time staying at Vijay’s property, we come with the same group every summer! Place is just as shown. Great for large groups, plenty of space and beds for all, great location too. A few minutes from kings beach, not far from truckee. Hot tub is awesome and bathrooms are redone. Game room is a great bonus space.
The house was perfect for all of us. Did not have to venture out as our self made toboggan runs right out the back of the house were great. Vijay was very responsive and accommodating. Great vacation even during Covid.
The property is very nice, and might even be better than the pictures shown online. Very clean and a great place for larger groups/families. Located very conveniently to Kings Beach and bunch of restaurants/shops etc..
On the first night, the hot tub was having an electrical malfunction, but Vijay was very prompt with getting someone out to fix it in the morning for us to use. We were very appreciative of how quickly Vijay communicated with us especially to fix the issue.
I would definitely stay here again!
We ended up having bad air quality from a wildfire while we stayed here, so we had to stay inside. The house was very spacious and I loved that the game room was completely separated (on another level) than the living/dining room. The kids could watch a movie downstairs while the adults could watch a movie upstairs.
Overall we had a great stay. Perfect location for families!! The house was well furnished with everything we needed and the game room and hot tub were both a hit. The bunk beds in two rooms were wonderful and allowed us to keep all individual families together. There seems to be a miscommunication between the owner and the cleaning company as I’ve read it on other reviews as well. Owner says check in is at 3pm and when we arrived at 3 the cleaning crew was still there and said that they’re told they have until 5pm. Wasn’t a major issue for us, they were done with the game room and they allowed us to hang out in there until they were finished. Would definitely stay here again!

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Poor
Pathetically, no heat in Dec? Give me a break. Propery shouldn't be rented.
It is a very cozy house, where the whole family felt comfortable. Enough space for adults and children, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms clean and big. And you have beautiful places nearby that you can visit such as King Beach, Northstar Village; (there is a gondola, bicycles to go to the mountain, food, shops to buy). Sand Harbor and Secret Harbor is close to the house. Fully recommended for your family vacation. The only detail was that we couldn't use to watch the television programs in the spare time that we were at home. But everything else is in perfect condition
I stayed at the property with 10 other friends in honor of our good buddy saying bye to bachelorhood. The place does not disappoint one bit! There is so much space to lounge around. The game room had us all competing like kids in an arcade fighting epic battles on the pool table and foosball. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and melted away any soreness we had from mountain biking and hiking. The kitchen is fully stocked with a wide assortment of cooking utensils and pots and pans. Vijay, the property manager, was very receptive to emails prior to our arrival, but we were not able to reach him during our stay. He informed us he was out traveling, so this is not a slight towards him. Everyone deserves time off. And if you’re looking for great accommodations on your time off, book this property.

Not wheelchair accessible; overall good
Despite the listing, THIS CABIN IS NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. The closest bedroom (and bathroom) to the main floor is on a split level with stairs. We were lucky in that the member of our party for whom this is relevant was feeling well enough to use a cane at the time, but anyone who is a full-time wheelchair user will not be able to stay here.
PROS: Huge kitchen! Impressively well-stocked for a rental, and we were amazed that there was dishwasher and laundry soap already here. The dining table can seat everyone, which is rare and wonderful. There are two areas (three if you count the master bedroom!) with TVs, which means kids and adults can have separate entertainment areas if desired. All the furniture is really comfortable, and the beds are quite good for a rental. Lots of pillows! The lack of neighbours makes it feel wonderfully secluded, and the hot tub is stellar. So is the view when you're in it! Being able to sled behind the house and hike out from there too was amazing. Super close to the grocery store.
CONS: In the bathroom closest to the bunk beds, the shelves above the toilet are not screwed into the wall, making it unsafe for young children. No toilet paper holders in the entire house and no bathtub, which is another issue if you have little kids. Bring your own kids’ dishes if you have small children with you, and maybe a baby gate as the stairs here are very treacherous for little kids. Several of the dining chairs are in need of repair, as is the air hockey table. Many bedroom lamps did not work even after we switched out the lightbulbs, so we had to re-arrange a few to make sure everyone had at least one working light in their room. There were not enough heavier wintertime blankets for all beds and the headboards for some of the beds were not attached, leaving them to move and flop over the course of the stay. The wifi is very spotty and prone to going down. Only enough driveway space for one car, though a second can fit in the garage.
Overall, despite the drawbacks, we really enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

Not worth the cost
I really wanted to rate this higher but there were just too many things wrong with this place to do that. That being said, let me state that the owner was extremely easy to communicate with and replied quickly even though they weren’t the replies we wanted. We were hoping for an early check-in (before the 3pm stated in the contract)and he said it depended on if the cleaners were done as there were tenants leaving that morning (understandable) but to go by around 1 or 2 and see. We went at 1:30 and there were 3 cleaners eating their lunch at the dining room table and all supplies still in the garage. They had microwaved their food and it reeked throughout the house. They jumped up and put their food away and told me it would be about 3 hours before the house was clean. That is way past the check in time. They should have started earlier (check out was 10am) and eaten after they were done. I sent the owner a message and he told me he would contact them and they would be done soon. Gave me the cleaning service phone number as well but it’s not our responsibility to call them. We went by at 3:15 and they still weren’t done., finally leaving at 3:45. They hadn’t started the dishwasher but I told them we would do it. I was hoping the pictures online were just so dark because of the camera used to take them but the house is really really dark with very weak light bulbs. The hot tub had been emptied and cleaned so it wasn’t hot until the next day. The sliding door out to the hot tub was off the track and hard to open, blinds in the game room fall off when opened, screen door is torn, front hall closet doors were broken and off the track, the air hockey game has broken plastic nets where the puck goes in and has a screw sticking up where the plastic nets should be. Very dangerous for anyone to play it. Many steps have a loose top strip on them, making it a trip/safety hazard. No extra towels, no shampoos or shower soaps, tv remote missing the battery cover. So many things that could easily be fixed to make it a much better place. Very disappointed.
We really enjoyed our stay at Vijay’s cabin. There were so many amenities and tools in the cabin as well as recreational activities near by. This cabin was the opposite of catfishing. The rooms and space was so much larger than what it looks like in the photos!Pros- There was ample parking- The kitchen was full stocked with utensils for cooking and baking- The rooms were nicely sized and accommodated our group of 16 perfectly - The game room was full of activities including a pool table, foosball and board games - Grocery stores were a 6 min drive - there was also a washer and dryer I also appreciated how central this cabin was to various lakes/beachesRecreational activities near by - kings beach was about a 7 min drive- Casinos were a 10-15 min drive - The Truckee River was 30 mins away - Sand Harbor and Chimney Beach took us 24 mins to get toAll and all, I would definitely recommend! I found that my interaction with Vijay was very human and not like an interaction of a giant corporation’s customer service team. We hope to be back one day. Thanks for hosting us Vijay!
