Basement apartment in a new building

We needed a place to stay for a week whole visiting ill family members. This rental with a queen bed and bunk beds our kids were excited to sleep in was just the thing. Warm, quiet and welcoming. The hosts were very responsive to the few concerns we raised. We would be happy to return for another visit if the need arose.

Firstly, the hosts were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they did not spend enough to develop a basement suite for guests. We arrived around 11pm and the hosts upstairs were having a family gathering. Not a wild party but the lack of insulation between the upper and lower floors meant that every laugh or walk across the floor is clearly heard. Worse, when I sat on the bed, I crashed through to the floor. The inexpensive bed they purchased had been damaged previously and the slats re-attached precariously. Finally, recognize that the 2 bedroom status means bunk beds in the second bedroom. In the end, we lasted about an hour before we left and checked into a Holiday Inn. The hotel was expensive, very quiet and the bed stayed in one piece.
