Great Large Open Plan home amongst the gum trees

Close to beach a walk or we generally drive the 1 minute drive. Great kitchen and bbq. Loved the fireplace on the cold summer’s night (yes in summer). Will be looking to stay again. Thanks

Beautiful everything is perfect - the house is a DREAM absolutely stunning, has everything you need. The kitchen is a cooks paradise. Whole house is styled and designed so thoughtfully. Located in the most convenient area, 2 min drive to anywhere in SWR/Arakoon. House surrounded by stunning trees home to beautiful birds which will sing all morning and afternoon long.The only negative to mention is that fans are the only means of cooling the house and none of them worked. The living area fans only worked at the lowest speed and the bedroom fans did not work at all. Luckily the house has lots of doors and windows with fly screens so if there is a breeze this helps but otherwise it’s a bit stuffy, especially in the bedrooms as the windows don’t open far. The owners should look at fixing this asap as we saw an old review mention the same thing.

Love SWR but Disappointing Stay - This home has been neglected

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property has the potential to be a dream stay, but unfortunately it feels quite neglected and in need of some TLC.The windows and fly screens were very dirty and clearly haven’t been cleaned for a long time. There is no air conditioning and, despite checking beforehand, none of the bedroom fans were working. I had read a review from April 2025 mentioning the same issue and specifically asked about it prior to booking, so it was disappointing to arrive and find this hadn’t been addressed. The weather was hot and humid, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. My son slept outside because it was way too hot in the bedrooms. The clothes airer was broken and kept collapsing, the towels were very old, and there wasn’t even a tea towel provided. We were given only one hand towel and a worn bath mat for the whole group.That said, there are some positives — the lounge furniture is comfortable, the open-plan kitchen is lovely, and the shower is good. With proper maintenance, working fans (or air conditioning), and better basic supplies, this could be a beautiful place to stay.At the moment, however, it doesn’t match the expectations set in the listing.

The bed arrangements, and a single toilet at the bedroom end of the house mightn't work for some, but was fine for us. The living space is excellent, thank you.Issues: The entry path/board walk is encroached on by the the vegetation. We got wet from it, along with getting leeches.Spare blankets would have been appreciated for the cooler nights. There was just the doonas on the beds.If you are going to provide linen, you need to provide some tea towels please.There are no "real" bread & and butter plates, only bendy plastic ones. Real would be nice thanks.The service charge on top of the rent is substantial and hard to fathom. We thought that routine cleaning and admin cost should have been included in the tariff. (I appreciate that linen was supplied, but we had packed our own, and it would seem that wasn't an option)It was still a wonderful stay, thanks.
