This was the second time we’ve booked this location and we’ll definitely be booking again in the future. There were some upgrades done in the kitchen and bathroom since our last stay, the owners obviously take pride in the cabin ensuring maintenance and upgrades are completed for the comfort and convenience of the guests. Our favourite part is the space both inside and outside for family meals and games. The close proximity to amenities is also a plus for those forgotten items we always have.
Our host was amazing!! She was available for our questions. The cabin was great! Very clean with lots of room. The hottub was wonderful to our aching muscles!! We will definitely come back again soon!! Loved it
Cabin Lac du Bonnet was a great place for our family trip. The cabin was perfect, the yard was nice and big, there was so many fun things to do. The location was perfect. We would book again!
We had such a wonderful time as a family and enjoyed the quiet and coziness of all this cabin has to offer. It was the perfect home away from home and a great way to spend our holidays. We would definitely book a stay here again!
Was looking to get out of the city for a couple of days, and found this quiet hideaway. Check-in and the communication with host was very easy. Everything was clean, kitchen had everything you would need for a few days away. property was big and open, which my dog took full advantage of. The hot tub was an amazing little cherry on top of it all.
Everyone had an amazing time!
Lots of room to lounge around for chats -- inside and outside.
Well maintained and comfortable beds (even the bunks)
Meghan was always quick to respond and very kind and helpful!
Very clean and comfortable home with beautiful knotty pine interior and plenty of space to relax. The whirlpool was clean, hot, and ready to go and the fairy lights above it were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. Very much appreciate well-sharpened knives.Meghan was proactive in her communication and always responded quickly and kindly to our inquires.Extra nice and welcoming touch: snacks waiting for us. We like snacks
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It had everything we needed and then some! The beds, linen and pillows were so comfortable and the cottage itself was extremely cozy and very well equipped. Everything was perfect, they have truly thought of everything to make your weekend getaway absolutely perfect. And the hottub was the icing on the cake! What an wonderful way to spend the evening after a long hike. we would defiantly go back and highly recommend this lovely cabin. The hosts were wonderful to deal with - it was perfect. We will be back.
Overall a good experience! The location and property were both beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies which allowed us to cook some great dinners. A couple of minor issues included some of dirty dishes put away in the cupboards. It was very handy having access to laundry but the lint trap was extremely full. The deck was very relaxing, what a great view. There was a drink can left under one of the chairs that was full of ashes that I threw away. We had a blast playing with the yard games but were slightly disappointed that corn hole and yard golf as seen in the listing photos were no longer available for use. As I said, minor things. It was overall a good time. The hot tub was clean and very relaxing during the cool evenings. On the last day we could not get a hold of the owner when we couldn’t find the garbage tag to take our garbage to the dump but otherwise they were very responsive. I would recommend this property to others.

Well, out stay was just ok. We were in the area for a wedding and this cabin was very close by which was extremely convenient for us. The inside was clean and tidy, very spacious.HOWEVER, the outside needs quite a bit of TLC.There are many spider webs in and around the deck. The deck furniture was dusty and dirty. The BBQ was dirty. The solar lights around the deck do not work. Also, the ac unit above the fridge leaks - alot. We had to keep a bowl underneath it and had to empty it multiple times a day otherwise it would leak all over the counter top.The bar fridge also leaks. And finally - the hot tub - was DISGUSTING! We could not use it yet we were so looking forward to it. The water was so cloudy and there was an oil slick all across the top. There was a black/yucky tub ring.It was such a turn off.The hostess did try to get someone out to clean/fix it but with being a long weekend, it was not possible. She was mortified at the condition of the hot tub and did try to help but ultimately could not. Unfortunately, unless the outside gets some attention, I wouldn't recommend this cabin to anyone.

Response from VrboOwner on 17 September 2025
I never respond to these as it’s not my style but I feel I must defend myself. I expressed my absolute devastation that the hottub was not clean. I’m not sure what happened with previous guest but the water was clear 24 hours previous. I send someone out and gave you a partial refund. As water it’s trucked in a water change was not available at the time. When maintenance was there not once did you mention any other issues. These issues could have been remedied immediately. Instead you decided to threaten me with a poor review if I did not give you a minimum 100 a night refund. I find this extremely dishonest and disheartening. Also complaining about bugs ( which I see in the photos is like 3) outdoors in a rural home is a little silly. The air conditioner is a split unit, directions were not followed and due to your error was leaking. You told me you had a great weekend and found the home clean and welcoming. I’m heartbroken you have proceeded to try to ruin my buisness and reputation. I hope in the future you treat others how you would like to be treated.
Our goal was to enjoy a waterfront retreat for easy access to water activities and a quiet vacation in nature. We got exactly that with this property! It offered a private dock at Pinawa Bay, which made using my standup paddleboard/kayak very convenient. There were many games both inside and outside available, though we didn’t make use of them during our short stay. The cabin with its rustic beams and posts was beautiful and way more space than we needed. With a massive deck and multiple seating areas both inside and out, we had ample options for relaxing in full sun with views over the water, in the shade, interior or air conditioned. I also loved the bear themed fixtures throughout. Everything was very comfortable. Our dog loved having 2 acres of land to run off leash and explore. We also took a walk and found hiking trails of Camp Cedarwood, which was a pleasant surprise. The only criticism was the weedy overgrowth in the yard which had a sagging net set up and a variety of balls (soccer, football and bocce ball) and in photos of the property also had a corn hole game which lay on the deck, looking fairly worn/damaged. The weeds growing under the deck also made their way up through the stairs. The glass table and coffee table on the deck were filthy but we didn’t use them or the small balcony off of the upstairs bedroom, which was covered in bird poo. Otherwise the property appeared well taken care of.I would definitely stay here again.
Really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! So relaxing, thank you again! The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. The hot tub was a phenomenal addition that made our stay all the more better. Definitely try the outside shower - very refreshing!Lots of great things to do nearby, great place for a family vacation with children!
