Sitting high atop Cabin Mountain in Canaan Valley’s quiet Old Timberline Community, this home offers spectacular panoramic views and lots, lots more. It is a quick walk from the front door onto Dolly Sod’s Rocky Ridge Trail. Enjoy day hikes in the Sods and Monongahela National Forest. Evenings are for resting and relaxing in this beautiful mountain home. You will never even have to move the car! Cairn Ridge offers a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor gas grill. Start the evening with a delicious homemade meal. Then take a break and enjoy the sunset from the spacious outside deck. You will want to find some time to comfort sore muscles in the indoor hot tub and adjoining sauna. It is still a short trip to the chic shops and eateries in the small towns of Davis and Thomas, and the slopes at Timberline Mountain. Experience life at the top. Visit Cairn Ridge! Winters visitors MUST have all or 4-wheel drive vehicles with winter tires. Depending on winter weather conditions, tire chains might still be necessary.

Awesome cabin

Perfect for our group of 10 looking to spend a long weekend skiing at Timberline. The space was great and we loved the indoor hot tub / sauna. The house is located at the top of the hill and has an incredible view of the valley. It’s less than 10 minutes down the hill to the timberline lot. Would recommend and would stay here again!

Unique and Perfectly Located

This is one of the more impressive houses in Timberline with multiple awesome features: indoor hot tub, sauna, amazing view, plenty of room and, for anyone who loves hiking Dolly Sods, it's literally across the street! It's a beautiful house with a great story and lovely owners. It is starting to show a little rental fatigue and I might suggest having a word with the cleaning crew who left many dirty dishes in the cabinets and (courtesy of previous parties) multiple cigarette butts outside. But for a prime experience of Canaan Valley, this one is hard to beat.

This house was very clean and had all the essentials in the kitchen. They supply plenty of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. They did not have any aluminum foil or Saran Wrap but you can make do without. This place s location is awesome you are all the way at the top. Right outside your door are several hiking trails into the Dolly Sods of West Virginia. Awesome Sunsets and a big beautiful sky at night to view the stars. We Will Definitely Be Back!

Great location that needs attention

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The hot water was barely working at all, despite at least one other review from months ago saying it was a problem. It's a 10 person house and the hot water lasts for 5 minutes of one shower. The hot tub seemed to be over chlorinated, the whole house smelled of chlorine when we arrived, and if you were in the tub and turned the jets on that would release enough chlorine to really make your eyes sting. The dishwasher is not attached to the cabinets, so if you open the bottom rack while it's full, the dishwasher just falls forward, risks breaking a bunch of dishes, and is pretty annoying to get back into place. The ice maker doesn't work, and almost every drawer and door shelf in the fridge is broken and taped back together, the pots and pans are very beat up and some minor kitchen utensils are missing, like a working can opener. It's a great location but it needs some additional attention to be a really nice rental. I also e-mailed these concerns to the rental office two weeks ago, but did not receive a reply.

Beautiful view and very comfy living area. Great space for a group of friends. Only downsides were the hot tub didn’t get very hot, but the sauna was great. Some leas than clean areas (dusty, dirty drawers in kitchen), but overall a nice space. The place smelled like chlorine at first, but improved once aired out. Proximity to white grass and timberline ski areas was very convenient! Overall we had a great holiday weekend.
