We had a wonderful 7-day stay here and would happily return. The location was fantastic — tucked into a quieter area near the temple while still being an easy walk to explore Gion, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and local charm nearby. It felt like a perfect base for experiencing Kyoto without being right in the middle of the crowds.The unit itself was very comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a longer stay. It was clear a lot of care had gone into making guests feel at home, and having all the little practical touches made settling in easy. A great combination of comfort, convenience, and location for anyone wanting to enjoy Kyoto at a relaxed pace.

Pros: in a neighborhood, so you don't feel like you are staying in the touristy part of townCons: the beds were extremely uncomfortable, so when I went looking for extra mats and blankets to stack on the bed to make it bearable, most of the bedding had big yellow and browns stains on it. Yuck. I know they put clean white sheets when they make up the beds, but knowing that all the mattresses and blankets were stained like that was pretty disgusting. Also--a big con for us was that this location is managed by Rakuten, not by a local host. So we were unable to really communicate well with them because it is just handled by a customer service center that is not very responsive.
