This is the second time we've stayed here. First floor bedroom works great for our 91 year old grandmother who struggles with stairs. The feeling of home encompasses the entire area as you drive in and enter the foyer. Love listening to the nature sounds right off the back deck and then sit around the fireplace in the driveway. Would highly recommend both the home and the hosts.
Amazing property. Great hodt. Spacious even with our group of 14. Well equipped kitchen & 2 large dining tables. Spacious living areas with plenty of seating with couch & recliners plus pool table. Comfy beds & reliable hot water. Large decks overlooking river with challenging but doable path down to the river. Gas barbeque, large fire pit, & large front yard with trees & shrubs that provide privacy.
The home is situated in the perfect place for exploring the Redwoods. Being able to view the Smith River is great too! The interior of the home is very nice. The online picture of the game room does not show the current condition of the windows. Many of the window seals have leaked and the windows have a film that impairs the river view. There's just a few things like that could use some attention. But overall it's a great place for a family or group to gather and enjoy the beauty of God's creation!
This place was great for two families of 4. Chris is an awesome host. Sleeping to the sound of the river in comfortable beds. The only thing I would add is if you want to interact with the river, it’s probably a short drive if you have kids due to fast moving traffic outside the “compound”, but it would not stop us from coming back.
We LOVED staying here! We stayed with 2 adult kids and 2 younger kids. It was perfect for us. Plenty of space for everyone. We used the fire pit, balcony, back deck, and pool table everyday. We enjoyed coffee in the morning while listening to the Smith River. We sat upstairs on the balcony and watched shooting stars. We roasted marshmallows in the cool night air. It was honestly a dream. Thank you for sharing your home with our family!
This house was perfect for our family trip to the Redwoods! Plenty of space and amenities to enjoy. We loved the indoor fireplace on the chilly mornings and the firepit outside at night. The view of the Smith River was great from the deck and upstairs balcony. The privacy of the area was also very nice. It was nice to come back each day after hiking to such a comfortable home. I highly recommend!
Really nice, secluded feeling spot. Right on the river (a little sketchy to access, but worth it). Very comfortable & spacious-- perfect for a big family getaway. Chris was really easy to get ahold of & accommodating. The yard is AMAZING. Would be perfect in the summer. Overall a very nice place.
This place was spotless, absolutely beautiful, and well stocked with lots of towels and amenities. Chris was very personable and communicative. 10/10 would stay again!
Exactly as advertised. Beds we more comfortable that you usually see at a rental and there are three bedrooms with views of the river. Super close to all three redwood parks.
The house and grounds were wonderful! Plenty large enough for our combined families. So much to do in the area - we had an absolutely amazing time and would love to revisit in the future!!
We were all very comfortable in the home. Very spacious for the 11 of us. Highly recommend by us. Awesome communication with Chris and he was very helpful.
