Love Commodores Retreat is nice and clean. Needs a little updating. The thermostat permanently set on 72 was a bit of an issue since it did get warm especially at night. In the heat of the summer this be a bigger issue. Ocean Reef was great to with. Would rent again but bringing a fan next time.

Commodores Retreat
The building is old and the elevator looked like something from scary movies. It didn’t have a ceiling, only four rusted metal rods that were hanging by a thread about to fall on your head. The stairs and elevator were dirty. The pool water was clean but there were tree debris in it during our entire stay. The condo looked nice but the kitchen was not clean. I had to clean it myself. There were two sofa chairs that were dirty and old. The location and views are good but the condo was just okay.
Overall the condo was perfect. The view was amazing. There were only two down sides to the condo- the beds were uncomfortable and there was a musty smell permeating from the closet near the kitchen. Otherwise, the condo was clean and provided a nice stay for a short getaway.
Very nice place to stay for a couple or one with a couple of pre-teens or young teens. Rental agent was super - quick response to the couple of items I called them about!

Commodore’s Retreat - 204
First impression of the property is an old and outdated structure that is in need of general maintenance and cleaning. The location is fantastic with beachfront access and the eastern lake. The room was very clean with a well equipped kitchen. Bathroom was a bit outdated but functional. Hot water doesn’t last long so we had to space out showers which is hard to do with a family returning from the beach preparing to go out for dinner. We had read previous reviews and complaints about the mattress in the master bedroom. They were right! We couldn’t sleep for two nights. Turned out the Owner had replaced the mattress but the new mattress also turned out to be extremely uncomfortable. We explained this to the property manager and they were quick to approve a new mattress topper. This made a big difference but if I were the Owner I would consider replacing with a memory foam mattress. Overall we had a great time and always enjoy our time on 30A. Would consider staying at the Commodore’s Retreat but might look for a room with more up to date accommodations.

Update Needed
I usually don't leave bad reviews, and we knew that this condo was a bit out-of-date and that's usually fine with us. However, the condo's photos really didn't depict the reality. It was clean (I think), but didn't feel clean. The rugs throughout seemed worn and dirty and the bathtub didn't seem clean either. The bottom rack of the dishwasher had no wheels. There was excess stuff stashed everywhere leaving us not much room for our things (i.e. excess bedding that was not being used, paint in jars in the bathroom closet, games that no one likely plays, DVD's that no one likely watches, Christmas decorations, old drapes, etc.). The pull-out couch mattress was comfortable, but wrapped in plastic which made it hot and noisy according to my son. The king mattress was also uncomfortable and sounded like it might have been wrapped in plastic, too? The king bedding was nice, but a down comforter is too hot for Florida in the summer. The sofa was cheap and scratchy. We actually left a day early because we were just kind of over being in the place.
On a positive note, beach was fantastic and we really love the location at Commodore's Retreat. This was our second stay there. There was plenty of space to park, and the condo had plenty of towels and we appreciated the beach set-up (chairs and umbrella). My teen boys slept well (one in a bunk bed, one on the pull-out couch).
I would really recommend that the ownership update this condo and give it a good cleaning and clean out!
Unfortunately you were unable to lower the air conditioner below 72 which made the bedroom stifling. The bed was actually dated and you could feel the springs coming through. We actually ended up booking another room because I couldn’t sleep in the bed and it was so hot in the bedroom.
Great location, right on the beach! The condo was very clean and pleasant. I’ve never rented a condo with such a well-equipped kitchen! Everything one could want for cooking, although we didn’t cook. Nice appliances. Bedroom had very nice king-size bed, with lots of good pillows. Loads of nice quality towels and washcloths. Good lighting everywhere, with nice, bright bulbs made for a bright, cheery environment. Two nice, big sofas in living room, one of which folded out into a bed. There were also two bunk beds in hallway. There was even a washer and dryer in the spacious and well-lit bathroom. Enjoyed having a table and chairs on the deck, for snacking outside, overlooking the beach. Check-in/check-out process was simple and good communication with property manager.I can’t wait to come back!
We had a great time and view of the Gulf.
We saw dolphins almost every day.
We had a couple of door code issues that were resolved.
It was quiet and peaceful.
Wish the unit came with umbrella and chairs from the beachfront crew.
Overall it was nice.
Great view and easy access to the beach. Not enough room for parking. Beds not comfortable.
Overall it was a great stay. The location was great, Seagrove beach was amazing, and this condo had a perfect view of the ocean from the condo. The ease of access to the beach from the condo was one of our favorite things about this stay. There were a couple of downsides: the parking was awful, we rarely had a place to park and usually had to improvise a parking spot. They either do not have enough parking or they do not regulate who parks there good enough. The beds were awful. We had to go and buy a mattress topper to make it through the week. Owners need to invest in a new bed. Also, there was a lot of light that came into the master bedroom at night from outside, and we had to use blankets to cover the light coming through the windows. Other than that it was a great stay, and the pros far outweighed the cons.

Beautiful view, clean, needs updating
The view and patio are terrific and this home is clean and neat. It needs updates. It needs new bedding immediately as the mattress is done. The sheets being used are rough and the pillows uncomfortable. Access to the beach is great and the building amenities nice. The area is lovely for sure and the neighborhood inviting.

Love the beach
We have stayed at Commodore Retreat 3 times. This property was nice but very cluttered with limited space to unload our things. The dishwasher never worked correctly even after repairman came out to fix it. The unit above us had a washer leak so we had a flood in the bedroom closet. The plumber came out to determine the problem and had to cut two holes in the wall. Overall our stay was okay. We love the beach in front of Commodore so we will be back to the area.
