We were looking for a quaint private cabin on tje water. With this secondary cabin on the Madawaska River. Fishing off the dock, or the bank o the river, firepit, BBQ & 3 smallish bedrooms, it was the perfect for a guys getaway.
We stayed at Brads cabin for 3 nights. It is within perfect proximity to the East Gate of Algonquin Park. The view from the cabin is spectacular, nice covered sitting area outside. It was a hot weekend without A/C but we were very happy to have fans provided. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to enjoy the waterfront swimming due to the amount of goose poop all along the shoreline and dock area. Also I feel that it should be noted that the cabin is right beside a home, which was not stated or displayed in any pictures. Said home remained vacant throughout the duration of our stay and it was a very private and beautiful location.

Excellent value and an incredible view!
This is a rustic cabin in an amazing location. Bathroom and bedroom privacy isn't perfect if you're worried about sounds, but it's a great cabin experience. Make sure you bring drinking water because the water is out of the river. This is a great location for all trails and lakes on the west side of Algonquin. Located on the edge of Whitney for access to any last minute necessities. Brad was super accommodating. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful rustic cabin that faces Madawaska River. Brad (also met his mom) are lovely hosts.Cabin is in the yard (I think) of Brad's family cabin. He told me he'd be on the property the day we checked in. His family did some maintenance but they left the following day. It's very private, which we love.Cabin itself is very well-equipped. Different sizes of frying, soup and sauce pans. Different cooking utensils. Even paper filters for the coffee machine. There's also steak knives, pitchers, shot glasses, wine glasses, mixing bowls, extra toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels and kitchen towels. Can't emphasize enough how well-stocked the kitchen is.No AC but you don't need it. If you open all the windows during the day, a nice breeze comes through the cabin. At night, the temperature really drops so, come prepared with extra blankets. Definitely bring your canoe, kayak or paddle board, and your swim gear. The river is just gorgeous. Geese like to hang out on the property. There's a lot of droppings everywhere, including on the rock stairs leading into the swimming area. But we're experienced campers and nature doesn't really bother us. Dock area is amazing. It's nice to just sit out there with a coffee. Lots of indoor and outdoor chairs available for a large family like ours.Old railroad parralel to roadway gets some foot traffic and the occasional ATV or dirt bike. But you're facing the river, not the road.Use Vrbo coordinates, not address to find the cabin.

Top, alleen was het huisje nog in een klus stadium
Originally from Peterborough, now living in Ottawa I work throughout the area for the province of Ontario and try to stop by and say hi and meet most of the guest. Growing up my parents owned a summer resort on Rice lake. I enjoy meeting the people as over the last couple of years renting this cabin people come from all over the world
Why they chose this property
Just look at the pictures. No one is around but the wildlife. Walk in any direction will put you in the wilderness in just moments
What makes this property unique
Just a few minutes from the main highway and village to complete peace and quite of Mother Nature
