The place was clean and the host was very kind. The bedrooms didn't have any AC and that made sleeping uncomfortable. The house was very basic. Nothing fancy.

We enjoyed the house, it was roomy and pretty clean. I would suggest that housekeeping uses unscented soaps and dryer sheets when washing sheets & towels. I am highly sensitive to scents and had a hard time however I brought my own sheets and even though I used my own sheets the scent was still there probably from the mattress cover. The towels were just as bad. Also, the listing should state no swimming at the property. I would not have known that if I hadn’t sent a text to the owner regarding something else and was warned that swimming was not allowed.

Hi Judy, we appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that you enjoyed the house and found it spacious and clean. After reaching out to the homeowner, they wanted to share the following:-They understand the importance of using unscented products, especially for guests with sensitivities, and will be addressing this with their cleaning team to explore fragrance-free options for future stays.-While swimming is not recommended directly near the house due to safety concerns related to water conditions, there is a nearby beach where guests can safely swim and enjoy the lake.-The homeowner also encourages future guests to reach out with any questions before booking, as they are always happy to provide detailed information to ensure you have everything you need for a great stay.Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you for an even better stay next time!

We are extremely disappointed with this rental. We are leaving today, Friday July 24th and booking a hotel for the rest of our stay due to the uncleanliness, smell, and poor conditions. The following is unsatisfactory:•Cobwebs everywhere•fly / gnat trap hanging in kitchen. Just simply gross.•Dirty tables and chairs on deck. Can't use them due to nastiness•rusted out grill - unable to use•Unsafe deck out back with tripping hazard. Deck is buckling up.•Shower water smells and the pipes squeal loudly when in use•The bed frame and mattress squeak loudly with the slightest movement. Impossible to get a good night's rest.•mattress very uncomfortable •very limited supply of cookware•carpets are dirty and smell awful•A/C vent in bedroom does not work - no air flow at all. •ceiling patches everywhere - esthetically looks terribleBy far the worst Short Term Rental I've ever stayed in. I travel frequently and this is unacceptable. We would've left after the first night but we couldn't find another place to rent and arrived late after 9 hours of traveling. We are in town due to a death in the family. We now are going to have to stay in a hotel in Mt Pleasant away from family because we can no longer tolerate staying in this house. I'm requesting a refund.
