About the host
Hosted by Heather

We lived in Oakville for 25 years while raising our kids, enjoying weekends and holidays at the cottage. We've moved to Horsevalley Rd which allows us to be closer to cottage. Recently we have bought the family cottage/summer home which we are now sharing with those that love Muskoka. We have enjoyed growing up at the cottage, as well as raising our own children there during the summer and winter months. Our wish is to share our love for the cottage with other families for them to create memories swimming, fishing, sitting under the stars while telling ghost stories, winter days skating on ice rinks and at days end, sitting in Muskoka chairs at the end of the dock.
Why they chose this property
Our lake is a favorite for everyone who has visited or rented elsewhere in Muskoka. It's a closed lake so no extra boat traffic comes onto the lake except for those that live there. The lake has an association which everyone is a part of, hosting wine and cheese for new comers that have moved onto lake as well as a regatta on Aug. long weekend. The cottage is close to a beaver dam for hikes, waterfalls for picnics and has a unique island which is crown land that people visit and swims to a nearby rock to jump off.
Everyone looks out for each other being a medium sized lake and helps boaters that might find themselves in distress. Sailers and waterskiiers love the lake as it has calm waters in many areas while the centre of lake has great breezers for lazers or even catarmaran sail boats.
Cottages rarely make it to market as most properties are scooped up by people waiting to buy that have visited through friends. Our shore is a favorite of the lake due to it's easy access to Bracebridge, sun exposure and sandy shoreline at waters edge.

What makes this property unique
The location for morning sun rise is the best on the lake. Shallow entry with hard packed sand gradually falls away to deeper water. The property is free of large rocks or weeds which allows for nice, safe swimming.
The cottage has AC, a furnance and fireplace. It also has a hard wired generator for those summer storms that might knock out power for a day or two of your vacation, allowing for continued electricity. Property out the back allows space for throwing football, playing badminton or sitting around a bonfire.
