SHACKLETON is a beautiful 4 bedroom holiday home situated only a 300m walk to the Turton beach and only a short drive to the stunning Flaherty’s Beach, with its long white beach and turquoise waters, where you can drive a 4 x 4 on the beach and set up for a day. Flaherty's Beach was voted as number 4 in Australia's Most Beautiful Beaches in the Tourism Australia Best Beach list in 2022 and after one visit, you'll understand why! Accommodating up to 10 guests, Shackleton also boasts a wonderful expansive entertaining deck, outdoor BBQ and fire pit (for winter use only) with plenty of lawn for the kids to play on. With an open plan kitchen, dining and living room looking out through double glass sliding doors out to the deck, it's easy to settle back and unwind.

Open plan kitchen with dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas cook top, microwave, Nespresso coffee pod machine (BYO pods), sandwich press, toaster, kettle, blender. Dining area with split system reverse cycle air-conditioner, high chair, lounge area with 3 seater lounge plus 2 singles, TV, playstation 3 to play dvd's (no games provided).

Separate small sitting room with 3 seater lounge and small TV.

Bathroom with vanity, shower, bath and separate w/c. Laundry with 8kg front loading washing machine, laundry trough, clothes airer.

Clothesline.

Plenty of parking for cars and boats, yard not fenced.

Shed not for guests use.

Point Turton has an excellent boat ramp and jetty for those keen fisherman! There is also a general store where you can buy delicious pastries, take away foods, general grocery items, ice, bait and fuel. You can also enjoy a lovely meal at the Tavern On Turton.

Bed configuration - bed 1 - queen, bed 2 - queen, bed 3 - double, bed 4 - 2 x bunk beds

Pillows and quilts will be provided, you will need to take your own linen - pillow cases, top/bottom sheets, towels/bath mat and tea towels.

No smoking inside.

Property was nice

The property was nice and modern. Location was good as it was a short drive to the beach. No sea view though. Unfortunately when we arrived the house had a strong smell of pine wood. The smell was coming from the pine bunk beds in the kids room. We had to have all the window opens and fan going in that room all night to try and deal with the smell which was quite strong and unpleasant. It was disappointing to have to deal with that and effected our quality of sleep over our 4 night stay. Towel hooks in the rooms would make the experience better as would ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms. The pedestal fans provided were inefficient. Overall, it was a good property but some aspects as mentioned need improving.

Lovely location, great place to stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed staying here. It was fairly close to the beach, pub and a little shop. While it can easily fit 10 people one of the rooms has pine bunk beds which is perfect for children. However, the pine wood had such a chemical smell it was unbearable and some of our family sought other accommodation. There is no wifi and 3/4G is non existent if you have Optus so if you have kids who like to be online you will need to do something about it. Also, there is only one toilet so in a house with 10 people you get used to standing in line! Lastly, the cleaners were really nice. We met them when they arrived early to clean the house. No real problems there but we would've appreciated the extra time to pack and leave. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances making the stay very easy. The cleanliness of the house was outstanding and the advertised pictures are accurate. We were given great details on how to find the house and also get in.
