Private Buré at the northern most tip of the island.
Secluded and private yet close to everything. Our newly renovated AIR CONDITIONED Buré offers comfort and spectacular views of Somosomo strait. Sit and enjoy the dolphins as they swim by in the morning. The Buré has a fully functional kitchen or you can enjoy the local restaurants. It has a comfortable KS bed, bathroom w/amenities including outdoor shower with a view. We are centrally located in Matei, close to the airport (250m), shops (10mi walk) and the many attractions offered on Taveuni, the Garden Island of Fiji. The gardens surrounding the Buré offer privacy and a taste of the lush vegetation growing on the island. Sit on the veranda or on the deck under the biggest mango tree and enjoy the setting sun. Early risers can also take in the colourful sunrise. You will also enjoy our beautiful pool.

In addition to a perfect location, Helene and Peter (hosts) are wonderful caring people. Sorry we didn't have time to get to know them better.

This was the best stay of our 3-week trip!! The hosts were so helpful & communicative from the beginning stages of renting their gorgeous place. Then the welcome was genuine and warm, the continental breakfasts each morning were lovely, the house was super, and the view was stunning!! It was high bank water front but easy access onto a relatively private beach. It was just paradise!! We will return!
What a sparkling gem to find Helen and Peter’s place to end our stay in Fiji. Just perfect for the 2 of us. Its quiet, amazing 180 degree views of the ocean and the islands, beautiful garden with the old gracious mango tree and comfortable bed, and value for money compared to our stays in resorts. Helen arranged for delicious home cooked Fijian meals to be delivered to our door at half of the price of elsewhere You can walk to other cafes and supermarket. Peter bought us home baked bread, coconuts , eggs and milk. Highly recommended would come in a heartbeat. Thankyou so much.
So nice, I stayed here twice. Right on the water. Wave sounds all night. Nice sea breezes. Hosts were attentive and so kind and good. Walk to the airport is maybe 1 1/2 minutes.
The views are great morning sunrise, and evening sunset. I will return. Hopefuly 100’s of times. This might be my favorite place on this earth.

Thank you Josh. It was great to welcome you to Matei Pointe Buré and we look forward to your return journey. Indeed few places offer sunsets and sunrises. Cheers.
Stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed exploring Taveuni. Lovely comfortable place to stay, beautiful property and amazing water, sunrise and sunset views. Small Bure, has covered deck where we had all our meals, and lots of relaxing. Loved the stone outdoor shower! Kitchen had what you need for simple cooking. Be prepared in Taveuni…when staying in a Bure or self contained accommodation bring some supplies with you…check what is allowed into Fiji. It can feel a little isolated until you get to know what is nearby, what you can access on foot, and how to get to the gorgeous waterfalls walks, coastline, mountains. Take reef shoes, mask and snorkel, was able to use a kayak from the property. Taxis and rental cars are expensive, but available by the day, driving is slow on dirt roads…but well worth the effort! Loved having local Fijian and Indian food cooked for us, fresh fish is just the best. Two stores a short walk away, gelato and fresh fruit caravans…take cash only. Hosts very helpful, can ask if you need anything.
