Petal's Cottage located in Gunner's Cove was originally built as a boat shed for E Annie Proulx to hold her Lunenberg Dory and other supplies. For years we used it as a laundry room but realized it was great for a one bedroom cottage with a large 6 x14 foot window overlooking the ocean. In 2023 we built a new cottage with one room with queen bed, private bathroom, kitchen and living room area. The cottage has a new foundation, new roof and all new appliances and furniture . There is a very Scandinavian feel to the space. Located on 12 acres of land with two other cottages.
Be inspired by its breathtaking views and peaceful setting. Beach comb, launch your kayak or have a fire on the beach. A wonderful contrast to your everyday routine; relax, breathe the fresh air, wander the hills, beaches and meadows, watch the sunrise, explore where the first Europeans landed. "For a moment I thought time had stopped". Guests have seen; icebergs, whales, moose, bunnies, foxes, sea birds, seals, bioluminescence at the seashore , minks, dolphins, etc here!

Peaceful, secluded waterside location that must be experienced to be appreciated. The Nordic-inspired inside space (and decor) isappealing and full of light. Clean and comfortable.
This tiny cottage was exactly what we needed after a week of tent camping. The view is stupendous, the furnishing simple but so comfortable and the owners are wonderfully thoughtful . Thank you to Gina and Adrian for a wonderful stay!
Petal's Cottage was such a lovely place to stay while enjoying the area around L'Anse aux Meadows, but also the perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the view if you want to stay in.
Everything we needed for a getaway was provided, and Gina was quick with communication.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there and got to catch some beautiful sunrises/sunsets.
Thank you Gina and Adrian!
Petals is a wonderful little treasure of a cottage. Perfect for two people and tucked away in a peaceful tranquil bay. We arrived and before we even got out of the car we were greeted by a picturesque growler on the far side of the bay. Two lawn chairs out front sat inviting us to enjoy the magical view. The cottage is quite private and has an excellent location for sightseeing. We learned a little about the history of the cottage property while on a Dark Tickle Expeditions boat tour which was both interesting and fun. We visited L'Anse aux Meadows and at Gina's recommendation had dinner at the Norseman afterwards. (I have a lot of food intolerances and Gina had phoned me before our trip and reassured me that her husband Adrian was the head chef and would be able to accommodate me). WOW, accommodate is an understatement! My husband and I enjoyed the most wonderful meal that we have had in a restaurant in years! Thank you Adrian!! Gina was our contact for our trip and is an absolutely perfect host. The cottage was clean and cozy plus we were able to enjoy our privacy. Everything was absolutely perfect! At the end of our trip we had a wee hick-up with our flight and Gina was right there with suggestions and to lend a helping hand. We really enjoyed our stay at Petals and strongly recommend this cottage as an ideal place to stay. Thank you Gina and Adrian!
