About this property
The Cabin, Mt Wilson
Escape to a hidden corner of the mountains.
Whether you're exploring the tranquil gardens of Mount Wilson or taking on challenging hikes and canyons, this home combines the cosiness and warmth of a log cabin with modern amenities and comfort. Sitting on four hectares of native rainforest and bushland, this is a place to rest, relax, recover, and to share special moments.
The Cabin is surrounded lush ferns and undergrowth with views out across the Wollemi, with the front of the property including a well-maintained exotics garden. Back directly onto national park, the Cabin attracts wildlife of all kinds, including wombats, wallabies, and a whole cast of flying creatures spanning parrots, owls, lyrebirds, and bats.
Large front-and-back decks are the perfect place for a summer barbecue or a sunrise breakfast, and also make a great vantage point for birdspotters. Large floor-to-ceiling windows let in light all day. Fully funished in a “70s chalet” style, there is nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with freshly cooked food and one of the twin fireplaces crackling away.
The property is located in the village of Mount Wilson, a short walk to some of the most delightful gardens in the country. Short bushwalks are possible right from your doorstep, or from a quick drive down the road. For extreme sport enthusiasts, Mount Wilson is a canyoner’s paradise, with deep secret gorges surrounding the village in every direction (for the most part, accessible only by experienced experts).
The Cabin is a magical spot. We invite you to take time out and reconnect in the wonderful ambiance of the Australian bush and of the Mount Wilson area. Spend your days walking, exploring, biking, interacting with wildlife, or just sitting down and breathing the air.
This listing is for the entirety of The Cabin. No other guests or residents will be on site. You will have full access to the four hectare property.
The access driveway is steep, and can be slippery in rain. You may find it easier to park at the top of the driveway on Wynnes Rocks Rd, adjacent to the entrance.
Mount Wilson is a beautiful village off Bell's Line of Road. Rich volcanic soils support lush rainforest and extensive cultivated gardens (some open to visitors year-round, others in Spring and Autumn). Between the Blue Mountains and Wollemi National Parks, there are ample opportunities for nearby walks, hiking, and more adventurous activities.
