The home was absolutely welcoming and beautiful. What an amazing kitchen! We felt spoiled with all of the added extras- the espresso machine, the Nordic hot tub to try, to the beautiful views and sunsets. Communication was excellent and the location was perfect for hiking and exploring. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect Weekend Away

My husband and I enjoyed the place for our anniversary weekend. We couldn't get over the gorgeous view and the house really put it on display with the big windows and natural light. The space is thoughtfully designed and we were well relaxed by the time we left (though we didn't want to leave). The nordic hot tub was perfect for the cooler windy nights. The kitchen was gorgeous and we enjoyed cooking all our meals at the place instead of leaving to go out.The kayaks were great for paddling around on the river, and then getting over to the beach. All the neighbors are very kind and helpful as well. We would love to come back here ! Thanks Jessica for being such a great host.

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
Hi, my name is Jessica.

I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and spent much of my summers growing up in a small rural fishing village off the coast of Cape Breton. In 2011, I went to Acadia University, where I started working within local agriculture, food and beverage, tourism, and hospitality. This is where I started to love how local food, travel, and hospitality can bring people together and create memorable experiences. Since 2011, I have lived in Denmark during the winters and returned to my now home in Northern Ontario.

Why they chose this property

The Lake House is perfectly situated along Lake Superior's coastal drive and we are located near some of the North's best wilderness, wellness and culinary experiences, four seasons a year!

Spring (May and June)

After a long winter, we always look forward to spring to slow down. It's the time when everything in nature starts to awaken. It's the perfect time to immerse yourself in nature, whether it's kayaking, hiking along Lake Superior's coast, or warming up in our cedar hot tub.

Summer (July and August)

July and August bring the best summer fun on Lake Superior's coast. It's the best time for coastal beach picnics, fish frys, and summer BBQs, and for celebrating summer nights with friends and family.

Fall (September and October)

There truly is nothing better than fall in Northern Ontario. We have fall lookouts all around. As the nights get colder, it's the perfect time to cozy up around the fireplace, stargaze in our dark skies, explore the vibrant foliage along the hiking trails.

Winter (November and April)

In Northern Ontario, we experience long winters but are surrounded by an abundance of skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. Stokely Creek Lodge is 15 minutes away, famous for its snowshoeing and ice caves. Searchmont is located 35 minutes away for downhill skiing and snowboarding.

What makes this property unique

Indoor Living

The property is designed with inspiration from Danish and European design, providing a getaway and grounding space. It includes three bedrooms, a great room, chef's kitchen, dining area, and a laundry room, all on one level. The guest bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, while the primary bedroom features a king-size bed. Other amenities include floor-to-ceiling windows, reclaimed pine floors, a stone fireplace, a freestanding tub, a professional gas range, games and more. The property can accommodate a maximum of six adults, ensuring everyone's comfort.

Outdoor Living

Overlooking Lake Superior lakefront, you'll enjoy breathtaking views all year round. We've curated the perfect outdoor space for you to enjoy surrounded by family and friends. Relax and unwind in the wood-fired hot tub, to cozying up around the fire pit or cook open-fire on the Barebone's grill. Other amenities include bathrobes, outdoor courtyard with seating, and water equipment (kayaks, a standup paddle board, and a row boat).

Please Note

*Privacy hedges will be planted in the spring of 2026 and we are offering the property at a discounted rate. Currently, we have neighbours that are visible on both sides of the property.*

*To help you connect to nature, we are pleased to offer an annual Ontario Park pass for your use during your stay, inviting you to explore parks along Lake Superior's coastline.*

*The water equipment and wood-fired hot tub is available seasonally and can be enjoyed until the end of October each year weather dependent.*
