The house is amazing! Over 100 years old, you feel like you’re in an authentic Japanese house. The staff gave us a tea ceremony, which was incredible. The private onsen bath outside is the perfect getaway from the hustle of the city and great for your aching legs.

It was our family’s first time staying at a machiya. It was an easy place to find upon arrival in Kyoto. The house was lovely. The tea ceremony at check-in along with the Japanese sweets were much appreciated. They were able to help us arrange for delivery of our luggage onwards to our next city.
