Lovely stay with our family in this beautiful inn. Laundry was just across from our door. The outside tub provided a good soak after a long day walking. The staff went above and beyond to help us get a bag back that we left in an Uber. Would stay here again.

Our host Kiyo San was extremely gracious, informative , and friendly. We even got to experience a tea ceremony and lesson by Kiyo San! The hotel itself was beautiful, traditional, and elegant. Thank you Kyoto Machiya Fukune for making our stay very memorable. We hope to be back soon!

We loved staying at the Kyoto Machiya Fukune during our trip to Japan! This hotel was such an authentic experience. We loved the check-in process, which included making matcha and drinking tea with our host. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The house is amazing! Over 100 years old, you feel like you’re in an authentic Japanese house. The staff gave us a tea ceremony, which was incredible. The private onsen bath outside is the perfect getaway from the hustle of the city and great for your aching legs.

Wonderful, private feeling stay while in a central location in Kyoto. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and a very special way for my husband and I to experience traditional Japanese food. Outdoor bath was so nice.
