Staff were really friendly and helpful. Asked for some takeaway to be heated up; they ended up sending a microwave to our room which was useful. Location was near the free tram stop. Had a good view overlooking the park. It's a pity they are closing the hotel!
Our second star at the Mercure and we had a larger room which was great when travelling with the family. The service was great, particularly from David at reception, thanks!
I like the location as well as the friendly staff.

+ staff were pleasant and helpful
+ central location
- hotel and room tired
- room very poorly lit (dark and gloomy)
- room very poorly designed (appearance and, especially, functionality) .
Nice position, but overpriced. Tiny TV set with free-to-air and Foxtel movie/sports channels only. Neither breakfast no parking included. And the wifi was supposed to be free, but the in-room instructions said it wasn't.
I've stayed at other hotels in this chain, and they were both cheaper and better.

Disliked: Cleanliness
What I liked: the customer service was excellent and the buffet breakfast/restaurant was very nice. The beds are very comfortable. What I didn’t like: the rooms are dated and bathrooms had mouldy walls and black sludgy mould around the sinks. Not worth the 4 star ratings. The aircon/heater was unsightly in the rooms and took up too much space. Tv was very small.
All very pleasing and comfortable and clean and that’s it. Was only the night.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast buffet was nice and the kids ate for free. Located opposite treasury gardens and next to Flinders lane, had fun exploring both. Hotel room was just a hotel room, nothing fancy.

The hotel is very well located. The rooms are very very small even when you compare them with European hotels. The lady that cleaned the rooms did not collect all the garbage and the room was not properly clean.

Location is great. Our family room had two queen size beds, clean, roomy, good price. The standout for me is the staff - all Accor staff are so consistently well-trained and naturally friendly. Its a testament to the company.
Nice family trip, convenient for the kids show, park and shopping. Unfortunately there was a problem with the payment for the Wilson Car Park....we were charged /validated by Mecure for the 1 day and when we went to pick up our vehicle it didn't recognize the validation so we needed to pay $85 to get the car out of Wilson parking. Mecure staff were good they submitted the paperwork for Wilson to refund the money....now waiting
It was very deceiving in the photographs. My room was very small.
Also, the price for parking was not disclosed when I booked and had to pay an extra $40 per day for parking-which was off site.
Staff friendly and room clean, but generally disappointed.

Great location to the MCG. Breakfast was simple but very nice. Don't think the restaurant was for families in the evening. however, plenty to choose from nearby. Clean tidy and friendly staff

great location. friendly service.
lack of lighting in room.
I thought it was fantastic! I arrived in late/ early morning. Last minute.com.au takes too long to let the hotel know of my booking. Make sure you call ahead if you’re booking within 24 hours. They were very accommodating even though they were fully booked. They even gave me $10 off breakfast buffet which I thought the food was great for a mid priced hotel. Great bed. Great linen. Grateful for the service! I
