My stay at Lydford Place was absolutely fantastic. The space was spotlessly clean and warm, making it instantly comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area, offering great local tips. They were also very accommodating when I had to make changes due to the weather. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-cared-for place to stay.
This house is dated for sure (in the best way imaginable). The detail was endless, everywhere you looked there was something new and exciting to discover. Then once you get past the decor, the views were spectacular with floor to ceiling windows on both levels in room after room. Watch the ships come in and out of the shipyard was fun, especially at night. Would stay again 100%.
This was a last minute search for accommodation to attend Te Matatini 2025 which was hosted in New Plymouth (as all accommodation options were sold out). I manage to secure this nice cosy small, but intimate accommodation on a lifestyle property. The view looked out to nice lush green farm paddocks and large trees with a glimpse of Mt Taranaki in the far distance. This accommodation was a sleep-out cabin on the same property as the host. It was easy to navigate from the city and the instructions from the host to locate the property on the semi rural road was simple. This place was perfect for our reason of travel and would make for an ideal weekend getaway. Communication was seamless! The host was responsive and considerate, ensuring our stay was comfortable. The space provided a family, homely vibe suitable for all couples. A 15min drive from the city centre.
A home away from home. Clean, comfortable and true to online description and photos. Quiet, cozy and peaceful surrounded by greenery ensuring privacy.Lorraine and Glynn are excellent hosts demonstrating warm welcoming care through all communications and upon arrival. They were super considerate about communicating location, directions and key availability if for evening arrival. Ample off-road parking and generous consideration for our wee whānau and two vehicles. We were there for seven days and the kāinga was a sanctuary with ample cooking facilities, filtered water and kind gestures of tea, coffee, milo condiments and milk in the fridge. Highly recommended hosts and lovely accommodation. Definitely a kāinga we will book again upon returning to Taranaki. He mihi nui, He mihi mahana.
The place is amazing! Nice little spot right next to the Mangorei track. Beautiful views of the mountain on the drive to the house and views of the harbour inside the hut. Lovely house with everything inside you
