Cortijo Balzaín Casas Rurales for 6 people

The charming Country Resort Cortijo Balzaín is situated in the Sierra Nevada National Park (Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO), in the heart of the mountains and at just 8 km from Granada city, 30 km. to the ski resort and 45 km. to the beaches of the Costa Tropical.

The farm is dedicated to the cultivation of almond trees and is surrounded by mountains and lovely trails that invites to walk, while you contemplate splendid views of the city of Alhambra and the summits of Sierra Nevada.

The resort consists on 9 Country Cottages for 4/6 and 6/8 pp. and a Farmhouse for 19/31 pp. on self-catering, a Country Restaurant with WiFi zone, a salted water pool, a children's play area with a small farm, a sports court and an old farm museum.

This Cortijo from XVII century, has been restored acting with the greatest respect to the rustic elements of its former structure, enhancing the character and beauty of these houses.

The cottages are very cozy and comfortable and their names evoke its former uses: the stable, the corral, the barn, the shed... In its interior emphasize elements of wood and stone from its original structure retained throughout the rustic and authentic flavor of its past, in a rural setting full of charm, peace and tranquility.

The accommodations are equipped with a high level of comfort for an unforgettable vacation, enjoying all that Granada and Sierra Nevada offer: the mountains and the sea, sports and adventure, culture and gastronomy.

Pepe and Patri, the farmworkers, are very friendly and offer breakfast and home-cooked meals at affordable prices in a warm and family atmosphere. They will give you all the information and attention to everything you could need.

Very close to Balzain (2 km.), you have everything you need for your shoppings and needs: banks, supermarkets, restaurants, shops, medical service 24 hours, and so on.

This resort has the award for “Best Rural Tourism Initiative 2000” by its example of rehabilitation and restoration of architectural heritage and its clear commitment to rural tourism quality under the criteria of sustainability and environmental preservation.

The Tourism Board has given the rank of Casa Rural Superior, the highest award for rural accommodation; it also has the “3 Spikes” Award from the Rural Tourism Spanish Association and the ISO 14.001 qualification for environmental management and the "Natural Park of Andalucia” quality award.

Muy recomendable - trato excepcional.

Estuvimos en familia, con tres niños, en la segunda semana de septiembre y todo fenomenal. El emplazamiento en la falda de Sierra Nevada y a 10 minutos de Granada, es excepcional por lo que puedes descansar plenamente y disfrutar de la naturaleza (haciendo senderismo, pasear, ver paisajes, etc) y a la vez puedes estar en la capital y disfrutar de la maravillosa Alhambra al mismo tiempo sin ningún tipo de inconveniente. a 2 minutos tenemos el pueblo de La Zubia donde se dispone de cualquier servicio. La casas, teniendo en cuenta que son casas de pueblo adaptadas al entorno, disponen de las comodidades necesarias, no esperemos un hotel de de Rusticae ni un hotel de 4 estrellas, aunque la sencillez del cortijo no descarta su comodidad y tranquilidad, también cabe destacar también su piscina. Por último y lo más importante es el trato recibido por Patri, el ama de llaves del cortijo y que hace de todo allí, hay que destacar su simpatía y su disposición a ayudarte en cualquier cosa, la comida sin grandes lujos, simplemente deliciosa. Sin ella el Cortijo no sería lo mismo. Gracias por todo Patri. Resumiendo, todo muy recomendable.....

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé 5 jours au Cortijo Balzain et nous avons été très bien accueillis par Patri, sa cuisine est excellente, le gite est très propre, la vue magnifique, le calme absolu, situé tout près de Grenade, ce qui est très pratique pour aller visiter la ville et l'Alhambra, merci beaucoup pour tout.

Merece la pena

Hola, estuvimos en el Cortijo Balzain el fin de semana del 7 al 9 gracias a el sorteo que realizasteis en totombola, y yo fui la elegida. La experiencia fue increíble, desde la llegado hasta el ultimo día, un entorno tranquilo, relajante y diferente a lo que conocíamos. La casa estaba completamente equipada, se nos hizo super acogedora como si fuera nuestra desde el momento en que entramos. El pueblo La zubia estaba mucho más cerca de lo que esperábamos, siendo muy cómodo el desplazamiento. El trato fue magnifico. Unas vistas impresionantes, mucha comodidad y una experiencia para repetir. De parte de todos, muchas gracias por la estancia.

Buen entorno, muy proximo a Granada

Esta Semana Santa hemos estado la familia en el Complejo, y aunque no nos ha acompañado el tiempo hemos estado a gusto en la casa. El entorno esta muy bien, para pasear entre almendros, muy proximo a Granada , cerca de Sierra nevada, zona tranquila para descansar. La casa sencilla pero comoda para 4/5 personas El trato muy correcto. Como sugerencia creo que podrian mejorar, puesto que tienen mucho espacio , la zona de juegos para los niños, ampliarla y mejorar los columpios............. Si viajas con mascota, ten en cuenta que no la puedes dejar sola en las casas si te vas de excursión.

Fin de Semana de Relax

3 parejas, 3 niños y dos bebes fuimos los que pasamos un fin de semana fantastico en la casa el Almendro. Casa acogedora situada en un entorno muy tranquilo y en plena naturaleza pero al mismo tiempo muy cerca de la capital. Muy bien atendida por Patri y su marido. Sin ninguna duda repetiria.

UNA NAVIDAD INOLVIDABLE

Pertenecemos a una gran familia que este año 2010, para celebrar el 90 cumpleaños de un familiar, organizamos una "excursión-fiesta-sorpresa", en las Casas Rurales del Cortijo Balzaín, coincidió con la Nochebuena y Navidad. Resultó todo estupendo, hicimos una excursión a la Alhambra, marchas por los alrededores, y sobre todo quiero destacar el trato y las comidas de Patri y Pepe. Para la cena de Nochebuena nos prepararon una cena especial, riquíiisima y !qué decir de las migas con las que nos despidieron, el día 26! ninguno queríamos volver a Madrid. Las casas una maravilla, calentitas, con todo lo necesario para vivir y disfrutar de unos días estupendos. Cada familia(somos muchos hermanos) estaba en una casa y para comer y cenar nos reuníamos en el mesón rural. Desde el principio nos sentimos como en casa, era muy cómodo, salir por la mañana y respirar el aire de Sierra Nevada, sentir la paz y tranquilidad del campo y tener a tus familiares en la puerta de al lado para organizar salidas y excursiones. Disfrutamos todos: los niños, los adolescentes, los jóvenes, los matrimonios maduros y la tercera edad. Una Navidad Inolvidable y como la experiencia ha sido tan buena, sin duda repetiremos. Estube 4 diitas inmejorable sin dudaaa.. nuncaaaa penseee que podia ser tan bonitoooo el levantartee y verlo todooo blanquiiiito0o.. eso me gusto mucho no me imaginaba que me iba nevar y me llebe un gran sorpreson... tampoco me imaginaba que iba a estar tan completa la casa de todo... a nosotros que fuimos 7 personas... no nos falto de nada... nosss gusto0o0o mucho e inclusooo cuando nos pongamoss todos de acuerdo iremos otra vez de lo bien que lo pasamos y de todo lo que disfrutamoss... =) muchas graciasss!!
