Stockghyll Park and Falls are popular with holidaymakers of all ages, being only a short uphill walk above the village and particularly fascinating in any season. Ghyllside is a spacious family home, which is situated in a very quiet and secluded cul-de-sac above the lower entrance to the Falls on the slopes of Wansfell. With super views towards the Fairfield Horseshoe at the front and Wansfell Pike behind, Ghyllside is an ideal base for a larger party of walkers or shoppers alike, given that this popular village has plenty to offer. A spacious bungalow with all the accommodation on one floor, except one bedroom and the garage, Ghyllside offers comfortable accommodation in a traditional, homely style. The house is well suited to family groups with pets, the owners simply hoping that you enjoy their second home, whatever time of the year. The enclosed rear garden and patio are well maintained and are sure to be put to good use on fine days, and in addition to the rear garden there is an pen plan front garden with shrub borders.

We've just had a fabulous weekend here.

We've just had a fabulous weekend here. Great walks straight from the door along with all the amenities of Ambleside. The house is comfortable and warm with plenty of hot water. The beds were super comfy. A good big fridge freezer. We also appreciated the Christmas tree. Thanks!

Good location, spacious, and fairly close to centre. Property needs some TLC from thd outside, dont think it had been occupied for a while as it was very musty smelling, which took a good few days to subside after heating helped dry out .Old fashioned furniture, but Overall, had a nice stay .

Perfect location for us, cottage was a good size, perfect for our party.

Perfect location for us, cottage was a good size, perfect for our party. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped and all appliances worked well. Overall the cottage was just what we wanted for our holiday and was good value for money. Would certainly use this cottage again if staying in Ambleside

The property has a lovely, dog-secure garden.

The property has a lovely, dog-secure garden. Although the kitchen is very small for 8 people, it was well equipped. The central heating on the whole was very effective. On the negative side, the property is not really big enough for 8 people. There is only 1double bed, the others being a mix of bunk and single beds. The downstairs bedroom has access to an integral garage and it is very cold, with a draught coming under the door. There are 2 additional heaters in this room to compensate but one was a floor fan heater which has been hung on the wall and you need to be sat under it to get any benefit. This type of fan can only be used for short periods. The other heater was a freestanding electric radiator. The location of the property is excellent, being only 6/7 minutes walk into town centre.
