Situated in a unique location, with stunning sea views from the large cathedral window, this detached, architect-designed single-storey house is in a perfect location for exploring the Outer Hebrides. It has gated access to the coastal path through the owner’s croft, and offers modern conveniences such as USB charging sockets in most rooms, wall-mounted TVs and multiple lighting options. The open plan living space has vaulted ceilings and wood plank effect porcelain floor tiles, whilst the kitchen has granite work surfaces, and there is a handy drying room with ceiling mounted pulley dryer, drying shelves and hangers.
Stornoway, the main town, is 9 miles away with several shops, and is home to Lews Castle, with its fabulous grounds and woodland walks. The museum, at the castle, displays six of the famous 12th-century Lewis Chessmen, found in the sand dunes at Uig Bay on the west coast. Visit the Ness Heritage Centre and discover the well-preserved Carloway Broch, or enjoy a stroll round the historic Callanish Standing Stones. Nearby, boat trips offer a chance to spot an abundance of wildlife, or further afield discover the archipelago St. Kilda, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are also numerous festivals which take place throughout the year including the popular Hebridean Celtic Festival held in July. Outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice as there is a variety of activities to choose from including hill walking, surfing, fishing, golf, diving, sea kayaking, cycling and wild swimming. The islands are scattered with magnificent, white sandy beaches, boasting beautiful, clear waters. Healair is a bird watchers paradise, with some of the most iconic birds of prey in Scotland often spotted from the large window in the living room - if you’re lucky, you may spot the odd whale or dolphin swimming by. Artists and photographers will not be disappointed either with dramatic landscapes, spectacular sunsets and on occasion an opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The Outer Hebrides offer a truly unique experience and an escape from the pressures of modern-day life, bringing you back again and again! Beach 5 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 9 miles.
