Beautiful seaside retreat

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the property and incredible views. Daphne and Angela were both very nice and attentive. Much more spacious than the AirB&B options during other stages of our trip. Very highly recommended!

Stay by the sea

Wow! Views from this property are absolutely amazing. House is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Lots of walking opportunities along the cliffs and through the beautiful countryside. Clonakilty has great shopping and restaurants. Would definitely book again!

Fabulous!

We absolutely loved our stay here, the views were absolutely stunning and perfect for a relaxing weekend with our young children. We went on some gorgeous walks and the house was perfect for what we needed. We’d love to return at some point 😊

Lovely house, amazing holiday

This is the most wonderful property overlooking the sea, we had a fantastic time. We found our way and got in with no problems. We had lots of instructions from the host. The house is really well equipped for cooking family meals. Beautiful area with lots of beaches to drive to. Thanks for a fantastic holiday.

Did not want to leave!

If I could give it more stars, I would! We didn’t need for anything and traveling with a teenager and 6 year old, there is always something. Daphne is a spectacular host, answered any questions we had right away. There was plenty of bedding with extra pillows and blankets. The view was completely spectacular, the pics in the listing does not do it justice! Would most definitely stay again!

Fantastic Views

We were disappointed that there was no folder on where to shop, eat etc never having been to the area before. Also the small fridge in the kitchen smelt musty so didn't use it. We were there for Storm Agnes which was pretty wild so sea views were fantastic. A word of warning in the cottage that road to Clonakilty was liable to flood would have helped as we were lucky to get back before high tide and the road flooding..

Atlantic View

Daphne’s property was wonderful, spectacularly situated on a cliff-top overlooking the open Atlantic Ocean. If we hadn’t been on a wedding trip, it would have been tempting just to spend the weekend on the veranda soaking up that panoramic vista. The house and amenities, roomy and well-appointed, were exactly as described, offering a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Ballinglanna Cove. Daphne was in all respects a caring, considerate host, responding promptly snd attentively to our every request or need, before and during our stay. Likewise her friend and colleague, Angela, who went over and above the call of duty to help when we encountered an unexpected transport problem. Daphne and Angela were, in fact, entirely typical of the locals whose acquaintance we made. Warm and welcoming, they were a credit to the country and locality. The reputation of the Irish as a hospitable nation was hugely enhanced at every turn. Add all of the above to the rugged, beautiful quaintness of Co Cork and we had the recipe for a quite amazing visit to the Republic and we certainly plan to return for more. The wedding venues of St Michael’s, Rathbarry and Fernhill House in Clonakilty were the stuff of dreams for the young couple we came to support - and, of course, their guests! From a personal point of view, with a family background of Irish heritage, the visit gave me the opportunity to visit the poignant An Gorta Mor burial site at Aberstrowry Cemetery in Skibbereen. Thank you, Daphne!

A lovely house with a great view over the sea! We had a very warm welcome and lovely rooms. We felt very homey.The weather was very rainy so it was a bit bad for us, but still we enjoyed the great view over the sea every day.

Just what we were looking for!

The house is perfect for what we wanted. Looking for a place to relax and unwind, with some interesting things close by to do when wanted, but a good place to simple be peaceful and to relax. We did all we intended. Clonakilty is a great town. Grocery store nearby was perfect for all our needs. House had all the kitchen stuff necessary to make meals and feel at home.

What a view!! A beautiful, clean and comfortable home. Very friendly and communicative owner. Loved our time there. There were four generations of woman age 25 to 83.

Lovely vacation area

The accommodations and views were outstanding. The cottage was wonderful with modern conveniences, and no stairs. Daphne and Angela were wonderful hosts and very friendly. Would highly recommend this location to everyone.

Lovely Ocean View Home

The view was amazing!!!! The house was very well stocked. It had everything we needed except wash clothes, but that might be an American thing. I was washing clothes and did not realize it takes a longer cycle than American washing machines. I contacted Angela and she was there within 5 minutes. She explained how it worked and we were good to go. Angela is a delightful person. It is a bit difficult to locate, but well worth the effort. Thank you, Marilyn

A wonderful house at a wonderful place

We spent two weeks with 4 persons in this wonderful house. Everything was in good state and clean, and it is well equipped with all needs. The surrounding is breathtaking and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The communication with the owner was always kind and helpful. Thanks a lot for a great time. We were sorry to leave and end up our holidays, but we will be back sometime.
