Compact two bedroom accommodation right in town. Easy to walk everywhere. It would be useful to have a microwave and a small freezer section in the fridge. Also instructions for the TV and washing machine /dryer would be nice. Overall a good place to stay though . Quiet.

The Stables, Westgate Street
The property is in a fantastic location, just off the high street- although, unfortunately, the adjoining castle wall currently seems to be propped up and has temporary fencing blocking off all the adjacent parking. It’s a pretty building externally but the interior feels rather tired, with lots of scrapes and scuff marks on the walls, stained grout in the wet room, and missing ceiling spot light fittings. The wet room itself is very, very small and storage and bedroom space is minimal, so the property is probably best suited to a maximum of 2 people- two couples might find it rather cramped. The beds were comfortable so we slept well- albeit, there wasn’t really anywhere to store bags other than on the floor around the beds. The arrival instructions said there would be a breakfast hamper containing milk and everything needed for a first meal but this wasn’t provided meaning a dash to the supermarket was needed. Lewes is a lovely place to visit so our enjoyment of the trip wasn’t spoiled as we were out and about most of the time.
