If you love painting, photography, hiking, leisurely strolls along the beach or just sitting and gazing out at the mighty North Atlantic then you won’t go away disappointed. A view of Salmon Rock never lets you leave without showing you its majestic side. From crystals dancing on the shining ocean with the possibility of spotting an iceberg or a whale to a sunset that will leave you breathless and then seduce you with crashing waves of the North Atlantic and then you can cap it off with a beverage and maybe if it’s the right time of the month a full moon shimmering its light across Long Beach. The possibilities are endless.

The Viking is the perfect place to stay in Twillingate. Decorated so artistically, the apartment is just lovely. The ocean view and sea breezes are incredible. Ann & Mike are wonderful hosts. Their personal touches made our stay in Crow Head extra-special. I was sad to leave, but must come back to spend more time in this lovely place!

Very clean, well outfitted, just across road from bay, stayed 6 nights and it felt like home. Very quiet, no traffic or other human noise. Bay window was great place to watch icebergs and birds. We couldn’t have found a better place to stay. This was our second trip to Twillingate.

We had a great stay at The Viking. Everything was as advertised. The home has everything you need. It is a great spot, right on the cove. We had one day that was rainy and cold, so we sat at the bar in front of the picture window with a drink and watched whales with the supplied binoculars. There aren't many places where you can stay inside and do that.Ann and Mike were excellent hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

I was born and raised in Twillingate and moved to British Columbia in 1986. I lived in Vancouver and Gibsons on The Sunshine Coast. I met my husband in Vancouver and we married in 1994. We owned a home on The Sunshine Coast. Being a Newfoudlander and of course the old saying is that all Newfies want to return home.
This piece of property that The Viking Vacation home sits on has been in my family for 160 years. My husband and I also have a home on this property, We moved here in 2015, We have a French water dog (Barbet) named Karma who is super friendly and she loves to go to the beach. The weather is ever changing and we never tire of storm watching, beautiful sunsets, new challenge and new surprises from Mother Nature.
