About this property

Julia’s Landing - 10km from Twillingate

Welcome to Julia’s Landing — a lovingly restored 110-year-old heritage home in the historic outport of Herring Neck, Central Newfoundland. This 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath retreat offers stunning ocean views, cozy charm, and a rich connection to the area’s fishing past. Just a short drive from Twillingate, it’s the perfect base for exploring the beauty and history of the coast.

Julia’s Landing is a beautifully restored heritage home, originally built over 110 years ago. While it has been thoughtfully renovated to include modern comforts, the original ceiling heights remain unchanged. Some areas of the home have ceiling clearances of approximately 6 feet 5 inches, which may feel lower than in newer homes.

We encourage taller guests to keep this in mind when booking and moving through the space. Thanks for appreciating the charm and character of this historic home!

Disclaimer: Please note that Julia’s Landing is situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean. While the views are breathtaking, the terrain can be dangerous—especially for adventurous children who like to explore. We kindly ask that all guests supervise children closely at all times for their safety.

About the host

We’re Sue and Nick — partners in life, adventure, and now the proud stewards of Julia’s Landing. This place has always been close to our hearts. Nestled on Newfoundland’s rugged coast, the house was once home to Nick’s grandparents, Julia and Roland — two of the kindest, most welcoming souls you could ever meet. They had a gift for making everyone feel at home, and we’re honoured to carry that spirit forward.

We purchased Julia’s Landing with a deep desire to preserve its history and share its beauty with others. While we’re restoring the house with care, we’re also infusing it with new life — inspired by family, community, and the timeless charm of this land.

Whether you’re here to explore, rest, write, reconnect, or simply breathe in the salt air, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Why they chose this property

Julia’s Landing isn’t just a beautiful coastal home — it’s part of our family story. This property belonged to Nick’s grandparents, Julia and Roland, who created a space filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories. We chose it because it represents everything we value: heritage, hospitality, and the kind of natural beauty that makes you pause and breathe a little deeper. More than anything, we felt called to preserve what they started — to honour their legacy while opening the doors to a new generation of visitors seeking connection, quiet, and something real.
