The second level offers sea views of the Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth towards North Berwick. The tranquil garden features evidence of the workshops of the Balmerino Monks which were housed on the site in the 13th Century. Walker’s Neuk was built in the 18th century and used to house the local Blacksmith.
An ideal location for visitors to the East Neuk of Fife, the cottage is set within the narrow streets of Anstruther, great for exploring the village and the working harbour which is close by. It is located opposite the Michelin starred restaurant, The Cellar and is a few steps from the shore where you will find award-winning fish and chip shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and a range of local shops.
You can enjoy walks along the Fife Coastal Path which runs through the village and afterwards, relax in the garden or in the comfortable lounge next to the wood –burning stove. Walker’s Neuk is the ideal base for visits to museums, historic castles, beautiful gardens and for exploring the picturesque East Neuk villages and coastal landscape. Boat trips to the world renowned Isle of May Bird Sanctuary and Observatory also run from Anstruther.
The area is famous for golf courses with a great selection of high standard links courses in the surrounding area. Anstruther is a 15 – 20 minute drive to St Andrews and its world-class Championship courses, Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling and Gleneagles are all within an hour’s drive.
