This was a great place - fabulous location! Close to the pool, tennis courts and pickleball courts. Grocery store just around the corner. Quiet street. All that you need for a successful vacation!
We loved this house. The kids loved the 3rd floor space to play in. Quick drive to the beach, accessible to bike trails, close to the pool. Would definitely recommend!
My husband, my in-laws and myself had an absolutely wonderful time! The condo was clean, close to everything, and we would definitely stay again! Carl was so easy to work with, he is another reason why we would stay here again!
The house was perfect for our family. We loved the location and we all enjoyed the pool. Would definitely recommend this house . We plan on coming back next year.
Our family had a great time at this rental. It was clean and very spacious. Plenty of room for the kids to have their own area on the 3rd floor. The location is perfect for our families needs. Very close to a grocery store and great restaurants. Patio was a nice convenience for grilling and hanging out after the beach. Beautiful neighborhood for daily walks. We always appreciate a nice place that accommodates our 4 legged family members.

Nice place
The large bedroom had a tv that turned out only to be set up for video games. Not an actual tv. Nothing is provided including toilet paper, soap or salt and pepper. The owner was passive aggressive with his responses. It's nice and large and good location for the beach.

Alta thank you for providing the review on this rental unit. Couple clarifications....Our weekly rental agreement which is signed by ALL renters states we do NOT provide linens, towels, soap or toilet paper. In addition, 2 weeks prior to renter’s occupancy we send our Welcome Letter that again states we do NOT provide linens, towels, soap or toilet paper. As for TVs, this unit has a large TV in Living Rm and Master BR with Cable hooked up. The upstairs room is setup for kids. There's a large TV on the wall for the kids to hookup gaming systems.
On June 9th Alta again asked about towels. I sent her a text explaining some owners leave kitchen towels in the drawers. Unfortunately, renters don't clean them, and they get thrown out during walk thru on Sat. After explaining this Alta sent another text stating, "No Towels." At this point I didn't how to respond to her. Clearly our agreement and Welcome letter states no linens and towels but she kept asking about them.
Regarding the accusation of being passive aggressive... In no way did I think that my responses back to her questions were passive aggressive. Alta asked several questions over text message which I responded back. One was about the key FOB in which she asked if was on a pink shoelace. I responded back, “where does the binder state the key fob is located (each unit is different & there's no way to remember this unit has a pink shoelace). I texted her, “Do you see something hanging by the sliding glass door? With a little black key FOB attached? Alta responded back, Yes on a pink string, is that it. Thanks!
Lastly, I mentioned to the owners about the worn out pots and pans. They immediately went out and purchased ALL new for the unit. We do appreciate those comments and I do pass them along. Thanks!

Our group had a great time!
The property was very spacious and nice! We cooked most of our meals in and found the kitchen to be lacking in some essentials. We packed frying pans and large bowls in order to accommodate our group. We also added 2 more adults after our initial reservation and an additional fee was added that I did not see mentioned in the listing. We were still below the max number of people allowed.
The location is great and easy to get to the beach, shopping, etc.

Shelley, thank you for the review on our beach house. Yes our beach house can accommodate up to 12 guests. We set our rates lower for smaller groups. For groups above 8 guests we charge a $7.15/ night fee for additional guests. This fee covers the additional utilities used by that guest. We feel that is a very fair rate and it keeps are rates lower for smaller groups that book our beach house.
Shelley stated she was not aware of this charge is simply not true. It's right on the calendar of fees. If she had entered 10 guests the website would have added the additional $7.15/ night fee we charge. Shelley actually had 3 additional guests that were planning to stay above the allotted amount she booked for. We only charged for the 2 additional adults since one of the guests was a baby. We don't charge for babies.
In the past we've had issues with guests booking weeks and not providing the true amount of guests staying. During the last off season and after careful consideration we decided to implement our current pricing structure that we feel is VERY fair for smaller & larger groups.
I hope my above response clarifies our additional charges on groups above 8 guests.
Thank you,
Carl

Glorious Vacation Rental
Thank you for a lovely week at the shore!
Communications throughout booking were very professional and smooth, all handled with ease. This rental is in a perfect location, within walking distance to places to eat and groceries. The pool and tennis courts were an awesome way to spend the end of the day outside with the kids. A short, easy drive to Cape Henlopen, which is our favorite beach for the family. The home was very clean, inviting, and provided plenty of room. The bathrooms are very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The laundry room was equipped with full size machines. My only suggestion to improve the experience even more would be updated and additional cooking supplies, as the kitchen was huge and a great environment for preparing meals while sharing conversations about our fun day at the beach! Truly a lovely rental and definitely 5+ star accommodations!

Great potential just too many little negatives
Just like a title says, property has great potential (location, neighborhood etc) just from day one we dealt with quite a lot negatives. Right after arrival we spotted quite a few problems with cleanliness, yes it looks like property was vacuumed but thats about it. Oven was full of burnt oils , to the point that we could not use it, tried to use grill outside instead just to find out that its not working (damaged igniter), found old candy and cookies wraps behind couch and to top it all found previous tenants underwear in one of the chest drawers. Air filter for central air wasn't changed for quite a few months, it was so clogged with dirt it was actually bent inwards from hvac trying to move air through it. Then you finding multiple lights not working, upstairs tv hooked up only to Wii console with only one remote working, loose toilet on upper floor, owners items in almost every closet. What makes it worst agent did not responded till Monday, you would think that with Saturday being starting day for your weekly rental most people would find some problems on 1 or 2nd day, it would be nice to make yourself available maybe just to answer text message. Like i said at the beginning- place has potential to be great vacation rental only if someone would pay more attention in what actual shape property is.
PS- another unusual thing about this unit-bring all kitchen and bathroom essentials with you, there is literally nothing there, not even coffee filters or extra trash bags.

Peter, thank you for the review. I’d like to address the items you brought up in your review. During the next change over the HVAC filter was changed out and burnt-out light bulbs were replaced. The ovens can be an issue as the cleaners do not have enough time during a change over cleaning to do a deep oven cleaning. I spoke to my cleaner about it and we came up with a solution to place disposable aluminum trays in the bottom of the ovens. This way we can remove them and replace with another tray. The clothes in the closets were NOT the owners. Must have been left from previous renters. The underwear that was left in a dresser drawer was a clean pair of kids underwear. As the rental manager for this unit. I do respond in a timely manner but need to prioritize issues that come in. Unfortunately, I had HVAC units down in other units that took priority over these minor cleaning items. I did reach out to the cleaner and made arrangements for her to stop back by the unit on Monday afternoon. I texted Peter 8:30AM on Monday. Regarding the cookie wrapper, I want everyone to understand Peter moved a couch in the 2nd floor bedroom and there was a cookie wrapper behind it. It was a simple miss by the cleaners. They are human and sometime miss things, not on purpose but it happens. Peter left that cookie wrapper sit on the bedroom floor from Saturday move in until Monday afternoon when the cleaner came back and picked it up. I followed up with the cleaner afterwards and she stated, “he made me go and pick it up.” I get it that she missed it but did you really have to make that point that she missed it. I felt really bad for her and apologized to her. We all work hard especially the cleaners and we all want renters have a good experience and enjoy their vacation. I apologize Peter did not have a good experience.

We love the area of lewes and have been vacationing here for years between camping at cape henlopen, visiting family and most recently renting as our family continues to grow. The home is nice, and the location is quite central to the beaches and other attractions. Upon arrival we found the refrigerator to feel almost warm. We lowered the temp settings and proceeded to get settled in and purchase groceries etc. the refrigerator seemed to start to cool down, but into the evening we could see our items were not cooling well, and the refrigerator began to throw a code and beep, indicating that it was too far above the operating temperature. We were very concerned that our groceries would spoil. I contacted the property manager around 10 pm incase we needed a repair but it remained beeping through the night. Also when going back-downstairs to check the fridge, I came across a cockroach which I took pictures of and killed and also sent to the property owner and asked to be contacted first thing in the morning. We also noticed the next morning the second floor shower having a drain issues. We were eventually contacted and the manager explained this is normal for the refrigerator and to keep them posted incase a repair is needed and that the owners would contact their exterminator regarding the roach, and the shower may just need some draino which the manager would stop by and do if needed. We were anticipating a third floor bedroom, based on the listing saying 4 bedrooms and that upstairs has “another side room with a queen bed”. The side room does not have a wall or door, and is more of a nook in the open upstairs layout. For our family, this changed things because we were assuming having an extra bedroom for a toddler in a crib. As noted in some other reviews, walking barefoot resulted in dirty feet and the tile could use a deep cleaning. We checked in on satuday and on Thursday afternoon we were advised that we needed to move a pop up camper out of the driveway of the unit, right away because we were in violation of the hoa rules. Part of our family had been camping and came to join us and we were told it needed to be moved right away. We were never provided with any hoa restrictions and there was a boat on trailer directly across from our unit. Our trailer was in one of the two designated spots in the unit driveway. This series of events really left a sour taste in our mouth about the experience overall.

Kyle I appreciate the review on this rental unit. I would however like to clarify a few items mentioned in your review. Kyle texted me the below issues on Saturday @ 10:38PM. I was asleep when the text came in. Sunday morning I reached out to the owners to discuss the items. Once I reached the owners I responded back to Kyle w/ a detailed text message @ 2:33PM addressing each of his issues. REFRIG- You cannot pack an empty frig w/ food and especially warm drinks etc and think it will be able to maintain a cold temp. Every summer we have renters do this VERY thing and complain when the frig takes 24hrs to reach temp. When you turn a refrig on for the 1st time it takes 24 hrs for it to reach temp. I asked Kyle to keep me posted if it doesn’t reach temp. BUG SIGHTING- From time to time you may see a bug. I know in my own house I see them. The owners reached out to their extermination comp Monday morning. The comp stated the same thing, “if you see addit’l bugs let us know we’ll come out. SLOW DRAIN- Again, this happens in beach rentals when renters let sand go down the drain. I stated to Kyle I’d be happy to stop by with Draino if it continues to be slow. Kyle responded to my detail text by stating, “thanks for the reply Carl will keep you posted.” I followed up with Kyle on Monday @ 4:40PM with another text checking in on him. He responded back, “Hi Carl, Thanks for checking back, fridge seems to be operating ok, no bugs thankfully! Shower drain still not working well. I could try to get some draino tomorrow when we’re out.” I had no issue stopping by with draino if he did ask me to. Regarding the layout of this townhouse, our description on VRBO doesn’t state there’s 2 bedrms on the 3rd floor. I’ve cut and pasted our write up for those to see, “Continuing on to the third floor you'll find a large open room with queen and single beds and a side room with another queen sized bed.” We ONLY advertise this rental unit as a 4 bedroom unit. 3 bedrms on 2nd floor and 1 on 3rd floor. Now onto the CAMPER. The HOA Property Manager contacted me about a Camper being parked behind this unit. The HOA PM stated the Camper had to be moved or the owner would be fined. When I reached out to Kyle he wanted to argue with me. First stating the neighbor in the back had a boat and then stated the lawn crew had a large trailer parked in the front when they were mowing. I stated, my responsibility is this unit. I cannot be concerned about other units in the community. The HOA wants it moved as it’s against the deed restrictions.” Kyle replied back that I should have provided him the community deed restrictions. The restrictions are 200 pages. Most renters check w/ me ahead of coming on vacation. Most of the communities here at the beaches are deed restricted. In summary, I replied to his issues and followed up with Kyle during his stay. I have NO control over community deed restrictions. I’m sorry you didn’t agree w/ the rules.
My family of 4 adult children, 2 young granddaughters, 1 dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this property. The home was perfect for each of us to have our "space" and still enjoy each other's company. This was the first time I had booked a home through VRBO, but the process was easy and Carl helped to make it "friendly". I will definitely consider this property again in the future.
This 3 floored home was a great stay for all of our family. Plenty of space and large beds for each person to have some privacy and sleep comfortably. 3rd floor loft room was a fantastic place for the kids to hang out and play. TV upstairs in the loft is for gaming and had a wii attached when we were there or you can hook up your own gaming systems (fyi- not hooked up to cable). Great location near shopping and restaurants. Easy and quick drive to downtown Lewes, the bay and a short drive to Rehoboth beaches as well. Had a few questions for the property manager and he was very responsive in answering all of them quickly. Make sure to bring linens for the beds and towels for the bath and kitchen which is specified in the agreement that they are not provided. Pool was fantastic and very clean with a lifeguard typically on duty. Dining room table was large and able to accommodate all of our family for dinners and game nights. Great stay.
Our family of 11 people stayed at this property. It was clean and very spacious with enough room for a very comfortable stay for the adults, teens and children. There were a couple areas that were a bit disappointing. We had to reset the dryer several times to get clothes completely dry. Also, the kitchen had basic household cooking utensils but not adequate for cooking for the number that it advertises that it accommodates. We had to actually purchase cookware. Other than that we had a great vacation.
The property size, location, and pool were great. Our family enjoyed the vacation and it was nice to find a pet friendly condo which was so spacious and community friendly!
Property was as listed, with all amenities and sleeping space for our group of 5 adults and 5 kids. The 3rd floor was especially an awesome space for the kids to hang out, play and sleep. Three bedrooms on the 2nd floor was convenient for the adults. It is a great location, with grocery, liquor store and restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed the backyard grille, the swimming pool and just lounging about the living room and the seating area in the kitchen. We had no issue finding parking in front of the house, plus there's parking space for 2 cars in the back driveway. An issue during our stay with a blocked kitchen sink drain was promptly taken care of. Communication with owner was good. Cleanliness was generally good, except the cleaning crew seemed to have missed vacuuming the 1st floor and fridge needed cleaning when we got there. Our only suggestion would be to get cleaning crew to pay more attention to this.
House location is great for driving to Lewes and Cape Henlopen beaches and the Cape May Ferry. Expect delays driving to Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany and other beaches south though, since it's one main road and traffic gets busy. Overall, it was a great vacation stay for us to explore the beaches of Delaware and we would recommend it!
Had a nice week. Location is great! House is very roomy. Pools and neighborhood were wonderful. Floors definitely needed a deep clean. Kitchen floor made our feet turn black if we walked barefoot and when I wiped up spilled water in the floor, the paper towel was black. Also couch smelled heavily of dog (it's dog friendly, which is so wonderful, but that was a bit of a turn off). I would just suggest the cleaners do a more thorough job in the future. Host was friendly and helpful when booking and with questions I had. Other than a few cleaning issues, the stay was great!
We have tried a variety of beaches along the Delaware coastline and have found a new favorite! Lewes is a great area and the Villages at Five Points is a great community. The condo was clean, well stocked (except for needing a few sauce pans to cook with) and very convenient to everything. The bike trails were great....there were too many to explore to do it in just one short week. Carl was great to work with and was very responsive to any questions I had. The spacious condo was perfect for my 3 grown children, spouses and grandchildren to stay in. The entire upper floor was the perfect spot for the grandchildren and their parents to all stay together. I will definitely be staying here again! Thank you Carl!
