Beachfront Creole villa with incredible ocean views and private plunge pool

Maison Vue Des Iles has the character and appearance of a traditional plantation property. The shared private drive is gated and the gardens have a fine collection of tropical plants. Behind this impressive self catering villa is a wind-cut granite outcrop covered in Bougainvillea. The interior is a real contrast, the decor is a modern take on colonial style, with white walls and sofas softened by wooden floors and furniture, a mezzanine level doesn't obstruct a view upwards 30ft to the rafters. There are huge oil paintings by local artists (including our famous neighbour Raymond Dubuisson) to provide colour, none however can compete with the vivid turquoise of the sea that can be seen straight ahead through the veranda doors. Stepping through is breathtaking, locals believe there is no more beautiful spot on what is a tropical island paradise. The property has a range cooker, fridge, dishwasher, laundry and library. Most of your time will be spent outside relaxing in the infinity plunge pool, snorkelling in the ocean or looking at it from the pool, sun deck or veranda.

What an amazing visit! We stayed with our family and had a wonderful time. The views are incredible and we were well taken care of. Definitely recommend renting a car. Special place!!

Maison Vue des Iles

Amazing property in all respects and excellent interactions with the owner, property managers, cleaners etc. Would highly recommend. Only slight caution would be for a family with small children--would need to be supervised as the pool is in a beautiful but elevated position and the beach/coral next to the house can be a little challenging to swim in when the sea is rough (we were there in the windy season), but our teenage children loved it!

The photos of the property are extremely outdated and do not reflect its current condition. The deck has deteriorated significantly and is in very poor shape, with the handrails being very shaky and barely holding on—seriously dangerous. The image showing the deck with multiple loungers should be removed because there are none.The images depicting the beaches are quite misleading; in particular, the photograph of the beach directly beneath the residence should be appropriately updated, as the sand has eroded significantly.The pool looked cloudy with strange green foam on top. I think this happened because the cleaner brushed off algae from the bottom and sides when we arrived. The view is gorgeous, but we couldn't really sit outside and enjoy it in the evening because of the mosquitoes. This was a shame because the house was an unbelievable furnace! So we were forced to stay in the two air-conditioned bedrooms to avoid the unbearably stifling heat of the rest of the house. The upstairs open loft bed was completely unusable due to the extreme heat. The two sofas in the "lounge" were extremely uncomfortable and badly in need of updating.The location description fails to adequately depict the extremely narrow "road" leading to the property, which can only be navigated by a very small vehicle. If you encounter another oncoming car, one must reverse to find a spot to squeeze past. The last part of the road leading to the house is very steep, and I would consider it unsuit

Paradise on earth!

Claudette, Maison Vue Des Isles was the perfect place for us. It was very clean and comfortable. We left the villa only twice to get groceries. Otherwise we were on the veranda enjoying the incredible view or in the ocean snorkeling off the beach finding fish, turtles, octopus, rays. We would highly recommend it for a quiet get away. Private Piece of Paradise at the end of the road.

The house and property are gorgeous. Once you arrive you do not want to leave. When you enter it is difficult to know where to look. The doors are open with an expansive ocean view and the most photogenic little island just to the left. The white walls of the house are covered with original oil paintings, most by local artists. The house is, literally, at the end of the road.. very private, on single track road which requires careful navigation. There is some of the best snorkeling I have experienced just down the steps from the house. The fish were exquisite but it was the vast variety of clean, colorful and unbroken coral that fascinated me. We cooked several dinners in to the enjoy the home and ocean view. The kitchen was fully equipped. There are many games for evening entertainment and the A/C in the bedrooms was a welcome relief. It is the tropics so expect heat, humidity, a few bugs, cute skinks and geckos. The skinks and geckos are another source of entertainment. We spent hours in the pool enjoying the view. It is the best spot on the island, in my opinion. It is very easy to explore the rest of the island and La Digue, from here, before returning back to the peace and quiet at the end of the road. The host was easy to communicate with and answered all my questions promptly. When we arrived there was little welcome pack of island treats, which we enjoyed.

Spectacular views - BUT be very cautious

The location and views are spectacular and completely as described, sadly this is where it ends in the luxury section, the pictures of the property are very old, and not representative of the current state of maintenance. We found the entire property to be lacking and all issues mentioned by a very few other travelers to be correct. On arrival we were told that the shower in one bathroom was not functioning - this was a major let down, and as it had been a problem for a while, we should have been informed in advance and given the opportunity to cancel and book elsewhere. The upper patio was wonderful with spectacular views and good furniture, but the stairs to the lower deck, and the deck itself was deteriorating and the handrails were rickety and a health hazard. The nice deck furniture from the pictures have been replaced by plastic sunbeds and chairs. The pool was a disaster - the overflow system was not used so the surface was dirty, and the pool was murky and with algae growing. The furniture inside were not luxurious at all - beds are not true king size but doubles, but OK comfortable. There were lots of other issues - no hand soap, only limited drinking water provided, only small amount of shampoo available. Our greatest shock was discussing the failures with the host, and being offered compensation, provided we did not leave a negative review ! This we reported to VRBO, and this might explain the continuing positive reviews, on this outdated and overpriced property.

Excellent séjour dans un cadre exceptionnel ! Le paradis !

La vue depuis la maison est à couper le souffle . Depuis la terrasse nous avons pu admirer tortues raie et les dauphins certains matins. C est un spot de snorkeling exceptionnel. La maison est isolée dans un cadre de nature très agréable. En un mot : un vrai petit coin de paradis

Paradis sur terre

Villa magnifique, avec vue sur l’océan. Un petit havre de paix ressourçant, avec une tristesse en partant !La villa est sur la fin d’un petit chemin, on se retrouve presque seul au monde cela est juste magique.Pour ce qui sont à la recherche d’un endroit calme bercé au son des vagues de l’océan, avec un jardin très bien entretenu, une terrasse grandiose ou l’on aime se poser avec un petit café, ou un petit rhum….. je recommande vivement.Un grand merci à Claudette et son équipe pour ces vacances merveilleuses.

Ein Haus in Ruhe,mit absoluter Traumaussicht!

Wir waren im November, es war unsere fünfte Seychellenreise, in dieser schönen kreolischen Villa zu Gast. Die Vermieterin reagiert freundlich und rasch auf Fragen.Da wir einige Tage in absoluter Ruhe, ausser dem Meeresrauschen verbringen wollten waren wir genau richtig am Anse la Blague.Das Haus ist wunderschön, obwohl schon etwas in die Jahr gekommen.Sehr gut eingerichtet mit wirklich allem was man braucht.Sehr toll ist, das ein grosser Wasserspender in der Küche ist, man muss also nicht selber Wasser schleppen.DIe Strasse ist schon etwas abenteuerlich aber die Belohnung ist gross.Wer gerne abgeschieden seinen Urlaub verbringen will, wird es geniessen und wir empfehlen es gerne weiter!

6 jours réussis dans une magnifique villa

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la villa « vue des îles ». L’accueil est professionnel, à l’aéroport de Praslin (taxi envoyé et pris en charge). La villa est grande, bien équipée et décorée, et calme. La vue est magnifique sur l’océan. Quel plaisir, par exemple, de déjeuner face à la mer ! Le ménage est fait tous les deux jours. La piscine est petite mais très fonctionnelle. Les enfants ont apprécié. Le village d’Anse La Blague est un atout également : belle plage, contact facile avec les habitants, épicerie pratique pour dépanner. Quelques petits inconvénients mais mineurs : 1) la route d’accès depuis Baie St Anne est étroite et escarpée 2) le côté très lugubre le soir une fois la nuit tombée. Le calme vaut aussi la nuit, mais parfois on se sent seul au monde. 3) pas mal de petites bêtes et d’insectes cohabitent avec vous jusque dans la villa : lézards, blattes. Nous avons même eu un énorme mille-pattes. 4) La plage de la villa est petite et surtout impraticable du fait des vagues. Il n’y a manifestement pas de barrière de corail à cet endroit. Mais les plages ne manquent sur l’île. Une nouvelle fois, notre bilan est largement positif, et c’est inconvénients restent mineurs. Nous recommandons cette villa.

Lage, Lage, Lage

Unbeschreibliche Lage vom Maison de Vue des Iles! Sehr großzügiges Haus mit allen Annehmlichkeiten und ein sehr gepflegtes Anwesen. Housekeeping nach Absprache und Bedarf sehr sorgfältig. Der Verwalter vor Ort ist umsichtig und immer erreichbar. Die Anfahrt ist ein wenig abenteuerlich wegen der der anderen Art und Weise, wie auf den Seychellen Straßen gebaut werden. Den kostenlosen Service des Hauses, sich bei der Anreise abholen zu lassen, sollte man unbedingt in Anspruch nehmen.

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus!

Abgesehen von dem einzigartigem Haus und dem atemberaubendem Blick auf das Meer, ist die Lage wirklich perfekt. Das Haus hatte keine Mängel vorzuweisen und auch der Garten war sehr schön gepflegt. Der private Zugang zum Meer war unser absoluter Favorit zusammen mit dem Infinity-Pool. Auch die Einrichtung des Hauses war unvergleichlich. Keine nervigen Fliegen oder Spinnen. Nur der Weg zum Haus war ein Abenteuer für sich, aber machbar. Sehr Empfehlenswert!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette superbe maison dotée d’une vue exceptionnelle sur l’océan. Tout était au rendez-vous même les tortues. La piscine est un plus car la mise à l’eau par la plage privée n’est pas toujours évidente.

Welcome, Bien venue to Maison Vue Des Isles! My husband and I and our team look
forward to receiving your at MVDI and making your stay with us a pleasurable and
unforgettable one!

I am Claudette Otten née Jean-Louis. Although I am Seychelloise by origin, I was born and raised in Kenya and lived there for twenty-four years. In 1983 I met and married
Jos Otten, a Dutchman and went to live in The Netherlands, where I have been living for
thirty-three years. Jos and I have two sons. My husband and I both love doing nature walks/trails, gardening and snorkelling. Jos enjoys cycling and diving and I’m more creative carving stone sculptures.

My husband and I have a home at Amitie the opposite side of the island to Maison Vue Des Isles, which we have operated as a Holiday Home for over a decade now. We do this with great pleasure. Since Jos' retirement two years ago, we run the establishment personally for part of the year, and the other half of the year it is run entirely by our very capable staff.
