Hilton Head, Palmetto Dunes, Inverness, a cozy and fanciful retreat
This spacious, airy and bright Inverness villa (1450 sq. feet) offers a unique and cozy island vacation getaway that lets you feel you are far from ordinary life. Hints of Cape Cod, the western Irish coast, and Morocco's beaches blend with the palm, pine and Spanish moss delights of the South Carolina low country to create a fanciful retreat and base for adventure that makes your stay memorable.
The villa is fully equipped, air-conditioned and all on one level, with wireless high-speed internet access. The villa is an end unit with a sweeping view of the 3rd and 7th fairways of the Fazio golf course. There are 2 bedrooms (1 king in the master bedroom and 1 queen and 1 twin in the guest bedroom), and 2 baths, one with a newly installed walk-in shower. The villa accommodates up to 5 people and has access to 2 parking spaces in the front.
The combined living /dining area is bright, open and comfortable with new wood floors, a cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan and an atrium window over a reading nook. Open access to the kitchen allows the designated cook(s) to chat with friends and family on the couch. Decorated with works by local artists, the living area encourages relaxation and family time, with a modern comfortable sectional (ideal for reading and napping), large table for snacks, reading and games, wicker chairs, a SMART TV, and a selection of books and games for guests (time to revisit Scrabble and Monopoly!).
The room opens onto an intimate mid-century modern patio with lovely golf course views and opportunities for al fresco dining, morning coffee, writing, bird watching, stargazing, or grilling. (The resident family of cardinals really enjoys the bird feeder!)
The bedrooms are quiet and private, with pretty watercolors and paintings of the local marshes, the sea - and abstract fishes. The master bedroom has patio access, HD cable TV, a walk-in closet, and a desk/chair for the remote worker... or aspiring writer. Its bathroom has 2 sinks and a walk-in shower. The other bedroom has a roomy closet and a second bed that also can serve as a couch.
The large sea-green eat-in kitchen has good counter space, a view into the living area, and breakfast nook with a greenhouse roof, morning sunshine, and views of a pink crepe myrtle tree (depending on season). It is well-appointed, with generous pantry space, a range of cooking supplies, appliances, a rack for wine, and other bar items. Out front, a second patio area (or "surf shack") has cozy chairs and a bench for post-beach/golf relaxation or a private moment and a shed with beach, tennis and golf items guests may use during their stay, with beach chairs and plenty of children's sand pails for the sandcastle builder (including adults)!
The villa is equipped with washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave oven and grill for outdoor cooking. Located a short distance away is a community pool and 3 clay tennis courts for renter use. If you fancy Pickleball, you are in luck, as Palmetto Dunes hosts lessons and courts for all ranges of players (including converts from tennis!) The lovely, wide beach is an easy walk or bike ride from the villa (renting bicycles makes your stay!) with parking and facilities (restrooms and outdoor showers) for villa guests. You may find yourself walking forever and pausing to sit beside the dunes or in the Hilton Head beach chairs (for a small fee) and stare out at the ocean and the pelicans diving for lunch. Beyond the local general store (which has a great deli and famous fried chicken) there are supermarkets close to the resort gate as well as other shopping and many restaurants. Try the Shelter Cove area for the charming marina life and exhibits at the non-profit Art League of Hilton Head, but also venture farther to explore the island's many treasures and activities - like yoga on the beach or kayaking!

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in this condo and we love it. They put all new floors in this year and added a couple new games to take to the beach. We will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful area with two lagoons nearby to look for the daily appearance of gators. Very nice well kept villa. Managers very easy to work with and problems like leaking skylight fixed very soon.
This is a perfect place and location for a family. The villa is spacious, very clean and well equipped. The patio is directly at the fazio golf course, has a charcoal grill which is perfect for a BBQ and sun set. It only takes 5 min by bike to the tennis, golf and the beach. The private tennis courts are perfect and always available. Weather host was very responsive for any questions before and during our stay. We’ll be back again.

Clean, quite, relaxing
The property was more than what we expected. Extremely clean, nestled back on the palmetto dunes golf course (played it twice - put a cooler on the back porch and have a refreshment on your way by on the 7th). The roommate style condo is great for privacy when traveling with family or friends and the overall layout is extremely spacious. The owner is wonderful and will make sure you are taken care of upon arrival. It's about a 4-5 min bike ride to the beach - get yourself a pull behind to take your beach gear. Kitchen is well stocked and the grill outside is a great way to kick back and relax. Enjoy your stay!

We were there during Ian and the owner and property managers kept in touch throughout with information. The weather was not as nice but we are from Ohio so we are used to storms! We made the best of it and still enjoyed the beach and eating.
Thanks we look forward to our next visit!!
We really liked the recent updating. Owner and managers are super easy to work with. Unit is spacious and very comfortable. It has everything you will need for a memorable HHI vacation!
Property is in a fantastic location and had everything we needed for a great stay. Our only concern was the cleanliness in that the sheets, bedding, and towels were all clean but the overall place did not looked to have been thoroughly cleaned for a while. There was visible debree on the ground under chairs and beds, the dining chair legs were literally covered in spiderwebs, any space visible that was not directly in the main walking area or on a primary counter looked like it hadn't been touched in months. The only other thing was that there definitely was a bug problem where there were lots of little red ant like bugs that seem to invade at night and the provided bug spray did help make sure they didn't get too far beyond the kitchen area. In the end, all was tolerable. Given the main spaces seemed cleaned, and the place was priced accordingly, I would definitely still stay here. Family enjoyed it and all that wasn't enough of a distraction.
Spacious end unit and a lovely, quiet neigborhood. Great golf course views and furnished with everything you will likely need. A bit dated but very comfortable.
This is a great two bedroom two bath home. Large living room. Everything clean and updated. Couldn’t ask for more. Would like to rent it again. Very convenient location in palmetto dunes. A short drive to the beach. This is a quintessential Hilton head home.
Loved the location and the villa being an end unit. Very clean and spacious. This was our first visit to Palmetto Dunes and using VRBO... very pleased with both!
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at this property! We cannot wait to come back! The condo is a great location for all your Hilton Head vacation activities - golf, pool, beach, tennis, biking, and fishing! The property was clean and well equipped with all your needs during your stay.

This villa was my longtime family gathering place. I recall many a Christmas and summer holiday with friends and family and welcome the guests who return every year or are new to the villa. I visit often to make sure my guests have a cozy and relaxing getaway and enjoy all the low country and area on Hilton Head have to offer... thank you for staying!
What makes this property unique
For my guests, it is important to me to create an experience that feels different from a cold, minimalist hotel room or cookie cutter vacation house - I have design elements, throws and pillows and pottery, from my personal travels in the U.S. and overseas to create a coastal retreat that lets guests really relax and feel excited to explore the area.
