Very Relaxing and scenic place. We enjoyed our time there. Hosts and staff are awesome
A true get away in the woods. The cabins have there own garden area. This is a very quaint place to stay. Not fancy but everything you need. The pool and area are relaxing and we loved sitting out in the evening with the sound of the pools waterfall in the back ground. Great place if you have a dog.

Do Not Waste Your Money
This cottage is definitely not a "resort" property. The mattress was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The shower curtain was moldy. The garden area was nice and private.

Mary, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay. We are currently in high season and our cottages have been booked out all month. Unfortunately, this means that we have not had the opportunity to perform our routine day long deep cleans. We apologize in regard to your experience with the shower curtain and bed. We would have been happy to rectify the issues had we been alerted. We hope you will give us the opportunity to host you again in the future. Safe travels!
My Great Dane and I picked Pirates Point just by chance. Very nice change of pace and a nice drive over Skyway bridge if you want to visit St. Pete. Cool place even if you don’t fish (I don’t). Cottage has nice front porch and patio that’s fenced, my dog liked laying on porch. All the tenants were friendly. Nice to sit at dock watch fish jump. The swimming pool is Great! Plenty of seating, shade area, tables and various floaties. Owners are on site and easy to get along.
I’d recommend for a nice relaxing stay and still close enough to beaches and city.

Not a Resort just a dirty cottage
Advertized as a resort. All the amenities except the pool were for rent only. Not a resort if nothing is included. I asked about what amenities were offered and was told they were "available for guests" but once I got there the brochure in the cottage listed the outrageous prices for renting any of the amenities. When I went to the office that was confirmed by the management. They said they didnt own the resort and there was nothing they could do about it. They did offer to give me a break on "fishing pole rental" The cabin itself was dirty. Everything below countertop level was dirty. The bathroom had hair and dead bugs in the shower, behind toilet and on top of medicine cabinet. Had to wear our flip flops in the cabin. If you went barefoot your feet were black in minutes. Dirt and dust on pretty much all horizontal surfaces. The stove and oven were greasy and dirty. The inside of the fridge was sticky and had lots of crumbs. Had to clean it out before putting our supplies away. The outdoor patio area was dirty and the leaves and acorns from the live oak above the cottage had not been cleanup up in a long time. Of the 5 windows 4 of the blinds were broken so it was hard to open or close them to get some light in the place. Positives: The pool area was clean and newly renovated, the bed in the cottage was comfortable. Over all experience I would not stay here again.

A very comfortable resort.
This resort has a very old Florida feeling. A step away from the hustle and bustle of a city hotel. Wonderful pool, beautiful river side patio. And most important, caring owners and staff.

Not as advertised
The unit advertised on VRBO was for a stand alone cottage. On arrival we were the room assigned was part of a Tri-Plex. The unit was very clean. Had a bedroom, bathroom and very small kitchen. Only a 2 burner stove top and a portable oven as well as a mini fridge. Furniture was uncomfortable particularly the full size bed. Overall Pirate’s Pointe was quiet and the staff very friendly and helpful. Did speak with Lynn to. Discuss our concern that the unit assigned was misrepresented per website. There was no cottage available for us to be moved to for the duration of our stay. This should have been made clear during the booking process. Lynn said she would pass our concern to the owner Tammie. Have not heard from Tammie as of this review.

Vickie,
The night I welcomed you into your cottage/unit you were so please that you got an upgrade with a private pool. Lynn did mention to me that you didn't like having a guest next door and we explained it was only for one night out of eleven you were staying. Your bed in that cottage is a queen and the couch is also a pull out. You had another full size refrigerator out in the pool area. You didn't hear from me because I was in the hospital the latter part of last week. I wasn't aware that you were unhappy with the unit as you seemed pleased as punch when you came in. VRBO doesn't allow us to speak with potential guests until after you book with them so there would have been not advanced notice. I'm really sorry about that. We do explain to our guests before booking that there may be other guests in the other units. Then its your choice to book or not.
I hope you'll try us again in the future. Thanks for your feedback.
Tammie
