Breathtaking panoramic long range mountain views from this staggering luxury lodge-style home with a HUGE outdoor covered porch with views for miles! Located halfway between Highlands and Cashiers, NC. This spacious home features four bedroom suites each with a
private bathroom, essentially four master suites. The large great room is anchored by a massive stone fireplace and opposite a wall of floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of multiple mountain ranges. These views are even more impressive from the huge covered porch for dining and entertaining with new gas fireplace.
This home is a very short walk to the Whiteside Mountain trails, which easily includes the most picturesque trail views in North Carolina, if not the entire eastern U.S.
The comprehensive renovation includes all new bathrooms, new kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and new stone countertops, new flooring throughout the entire home, and all new fixtures and furnishings. Virtually every inch has been updated.
The home has been appointed with designer furnishings, bedding, accessories and lighting for a custom, opulent lodge appeal. There are five dining areas inside and out in this home that could seat up to 30. Sleeps 12-14 in three king beds, two twin beds (that can be converted to a king bed), and two queen sleeper sofa-beds. Four full bathrooms. 7 flatscreen TVs! Baby highchair and portable sleeping crib.

This house is fabulous, and Wendy and Ron were so easy to communicate with. We enjoyed views for miles! The bedrooms were all equipped with very comfortable beds, and the kitchen and bathrooms were full of everything you could possibly need! The house is located halfway between Highlands and Cashiers so both are easily accessible. I can’t put a strong enough recommendation on it!

Girls trip, wonderful house, wonderful view and wonderful location!! The house has everything you need especially kitchen!! All you need to bring is yourself and some groceries!!

Loved it!

We loved this beautiful home and its spectacular panoramic view! Plus, the owners were a pleasure to work with! Highly recommended for a relaxing mountaintop stay, and for loads of activities to enjoy in the immediate area. The Whiteside Mountain trail head is just a few steps down the road. This is a big plus since parking for it usually fills up early.

Wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating a family wedding in Highlands. The home was comfortable and had lots of space for our group. Unfortunately we had a rainy weekend - so could not enjoy the outside space as much as we hoped. The inside living space was cozy with ample seating, a fireplace and lots of televisions for college football.

Adult girls getaway

We had an amazing girls getaway to this beautiful mountain home! We built a lovely fire in the great room and enjoyed the incredible scenic views from the panoramic windows. Kitchen was fully stocked with all of the tools we needed to prep meals for the weekend. The space heaters were helpful to keep us warm since the weather never got above freezing that weekend. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return when the weather is warmer and we can explore the area more.

We loved our recent stay! All beds, including pull out couches, were very comfortable! Kitchen has everything you could need. The view is absolutely stunning! Stayed here with 10 friends and would highly recommend. Wendy and Ron were very responsive with any issue that came up, responding immediately to any messages! Conveniently located right between highlands and cashiers, and walking distance to the beautiful Whiteside Trail! Can’t wait to go back!

Second Time around and so happy to be there!

We had another wonderful Thanksgiving week at your property! We love the house, the absolutely amazing mountain view, the neighborhood, the proximity to both Highlands and Cashiers and access to numerous hiking trails. The house is so beautiful and provides all of the amenities that you would want from a "home away from home". We had no problem with the outside fireplace! We even had to get 2 deliveries of firewood. The Loft's from Florida and Atlanta

Beautiful home with amazing views

I stayed at this property with my wife, her parents and our 4 year old son. Let me start by saying the pictures don’t do this home justice. The home is extremely spacious, decorated beautifully, and has an extremely “cozy” feel to it. Our favorite part of the home was the amazing outdoor area. The deck has ample seating with a tv, fireplace, bbq grill and those amazing Mountain View’s. The living room is also spectacular with a wood burning fireplace, large flat screen tv and plenty of comfortable seating for everyone. We spent a significant amount of our trip just enjoying the home/ views. Kitchen is well equipped with high-end appliances and everything you need to cook a meal. All of the bedrooms were well appointed with very comfortable beds and equally nice bathrooms. The location of the home is very convenient to Highlands and Cashiers. We really liked Highlands because of the great selection of restaurants and lots of shopping. Owners of the property were very easy to communicate with, but we didn’t require anything as their home was in stellar condition. Would definitely come back next time we come to Highlands.

Great view and location, central air not working upstairs

We stayed at this house for a wedding at Cullasaja Club. There were 8 of us total. It is very close to the Whiteside Mountain trail parking as well. Beds were very comfortable and the view cannot be beat! The only thing we found to be strange was all of the screened in windows were open upon arrival and it was a very hot weekend in May (83 F). The AC was not working upstairs, and although the owner was very responsive to phone calls even late a night, they were unable to get someone to come out and fix it during our weekend stay. Keeping the screened in windows open helped cool things off at nighttime. They have a highchair and a number of kids toys downstairs. Plenty of towels as well which is always nice! Overall we enjoyed our stay, but not having working central air upstairs seemed odd for what we felt was a "luxury rental at a premium price". Otherwise this was an incredible house and we enjoyed the patio, view, and location.

Perfect family getaway.

Wendy and Ron set the bar especially high for the VRBO experience. Our family of eight (six adults and two children) enjoyed a perfect weekend getaway at their luxuriously comfortable home. It truly was as if a friend gave us the key to their immaculate mountain escape. From the moment of booking to follow-up after we left, the homeowners were promptly responsive, warm, communicative and helpful. They provided clear instructions and information before arrival for ease of settling in, and answered immediately when we had questions. The home itself is tucked in the back of a quiet neighborhood, a short drive between Highlands or Cashiers. Because of the orientation of the house on the property, guests have the sense of solitude with views of the mountains spread before them. The house was beautifully and graciously appointed with a combination of fitting, aesthetically pleasing antiques, mixed with sturdy, inviting furniture for lounging or dining in pure comfort. Three couples each enjoyed what amounted to their private master suites. The children had a separate bathroom connected to their room. All reported how wonderful their beds were. Our family loves hanging out and cooking, which we did. There was plenty of space for privacy to work, read, nap or watch a movie; for kids (and grandparents) to play games. Some hiked the nearby trail; explored shops in town, etc. There is much to do and explore; but what we most enjoyed was relaxing together; tending the fire (inside and also on the outdoor covered porch): lingering over important (and funny) conversations in a roomy space that allowed closeness, but provided refuge to private quarters when desired. In short, it was perfect. This home would be great for a couples weekend or girls’ getaway. Thank you, Wendy and Ron, for your hospitality.. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful Getaway

I checked the Highlands was magical. We were celebrating our friends 40th birthday and had a group of eight women. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen, gorgeous, and we loved having our morning coffee outside by the fire. This was a magical trip and we enjoyed so much quality time together in a beautiful setting. The hosts were wonderful and communicative, And so easy to work with. We traveled during a hectic time after Helene, and we were so thankful that the property and the family were all safe. We hope to come back and stay at the same location again soon!

I’m tempted

To say ‘don’t stay here’ so I can be sure to have it open for me when we return—in the spring and fall, and maybe summer too. Incredible views and easy walk to the both Whiteside Mountain trail-arguably the most stunning and most popular in western NC. Easily accommodated the 4 couples. Porch with fireplace and views that don’t quit. Kitchen has 3 of everything you need. Also, these are the most responsive hosts I have ever worked with.

Hurricane Helene Stay

We traveled to this VRBO for our dear friend's daughter's wedding knowing Hurricane Helene was predicted to hit. And boy did it. This home is fabulous. Everything we needed and more. Our group ended up being fewer and much to our surprise the VRBO was equipped with a large generator that kicked in during the midst of the hurricane when power went off. The generator ran for 30 hours before we decided to leave a day early. Up until the time the cell towers went down our hosts were reaching out, concerned, very accommodating and gracious. Just the best! Highly recommend this VRBO. Though we didn't get to enjoy the amazing view we had one 5 min glimpse of how spectacular it is.

Beautiful home with amazing views

This property is a short drive outside of Highlands. It offers arguably some of the best views and the home itself is beautiful. The kitchen is great, there are spacious decks and ample parking (something that isn't always the case with mountain homes). Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here during spring break with my family. The house was great, plenty of room and clean. Great location between highlands and cashiers. The views were very good. It s also walking distance to one of the best trails on the area. Owners were responsive when we had an issue.

Outstanding home with all of the amenities

What a beautiful home with wonderful views!! We had 7 adults and 2 children under 2 and everyone had the most comfortable accommodations. The home is perfectly located to walk to one of Highlands most sought after hiking trails. The wood burning fireplace is stunning and the house beds were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Could not ask for anything more in a vacation rental. Also, the hosts are very responsive!!
