About this property
Twin Ponds: Intown Highlands Home-Close to Waterfalls and Hiking, 5 min to OEI
Nature Lover's Dream! Nestled in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Highlands made famous for Joe Webb Cabins, Twin Ponds is perfect for nature lovers! Beautifully appointed home within walking distance to Lake Sequoyah and On the Verandah restaurant. It is a 5 minutes' drive to Old Edwards Inn and Main Street (2 miles), 1-2 mile from Bridal Veil Falls, and Dry Falls, and Callasaja Falls. Our favorite though is to take the private trail right from the front of the house to Cliffside Lake, or walk to tour the famous Joe Webb Cabins. Sip wine on two large covered decks overlooking two ponds on our property, the community garden, , picturesque horse farm and mountains in the distance. Wake up in the morning and have yoga on the deck by the pond, with birds singing around you! Sip coffee on the dock glider to take in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy the beautiful lotus flowers in the pond and fish darting out of water. Read a book in the hammock on a lazy afternoon, or just sit in the rockers hanging out with friends and family. At night, roast marshmallows by the fire pit!
Our home is over 3000 sqft of interior space on three levels, with two full length decks overlooking the ponds, horse farm and community garden. It has 5 bedrooms, and 3 full and 1 half bath. It is a wonderful house with an open floor plan to enjoy the family gathering and entertain. Main floor has cathedral ceilings, a very large living room seats 7-10, with a Mitchell Gold sofa, smart TV, and a gas fireplace at the click of a bottom. Dining room has an enormous Restoration Hardware dining table that can accommodate 10, kitchen with a sliding window to connect to the outdoor bar area. French doors open up to a huge deck, with dining tables, a seating area and an outdoor bar area connected to the kitchen. We just went through a brand new kitchen renovation, with beautiful cabinets, leathered hard marble countertop, and a big island overlooking the garden and horse farm. We have a grill, and an outdoor cooler to make family meals and entertaining easy. Lower Level Deck has 4 rockers, a hammock and another sitting area. Inside the house, upper level has a master bedroom with a King bed, and another bedroom with a queen. Enjoy a soothing bath in the beautiful claw foot tub, big enough for two. Lower level has three bedrooms, 1 King, 1 Queen, and 2 Twins. It also has another sitting area with smartTV and DVD player, and a foosball table that converts to a small pool table. We have prepared lots of games, books and movies for the rainy days. We have four SmartTVs in the house in total for you.
We have attempted to make our home as comfortable as possible to make your visit an exceptional one. We have stocked the kitchen with lots of pots and pans, regular and Keurig coffee, bread maker, toaster, blender, crockpot, rice maker, popcorn maker and more. Contemplating buying a purple mattress? The lower level king bedroom has one. Try it before you buy it. We have also compiled a guide for your stay for various activities and restaurants. There is a starter kit to get your vacation started. We hope you will enjoy Twin Ponds!

About the host
Hosted by Lei Shan Stockton
We love to travel, we love good food, and we love the outdoors. Highlands combines the wonderful qualities of fine dining, arts and music with the outdoors. The amenity for this little mountain town is unparalleled in this region. This makes it a perfect location to explore the mountains, waterfall, fishing, golfing and everything it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
We have been looking to purchase in Highlands for several years. When we saw this property, it was love at first sight. As beautiful as the house is, what we LOVE the most is the property and its surroundings. It is dynamic and ever changing. We love the beautiful garden in the summer, watching the horses throughout the day, the laurel lined street, the beautiful flowers throughout the property, and the mountain in the background. And best of the all, listening to water flowing at night while hanging out on the deck. We love just grabbing some wine and soaking in the mountain air. It is so magical!
What makes this property unique
There are several walking trails only known to locals without having to get into any cars... This house has two huge decks that overlook the valley: whether the Arabian horses grazing, life in the community garden, or or smoke from the trees in the mountain... it is an ever-changing scenery. Or is it: Coffee on the dock of the ponds... I can't decide:)
