About this property

Lovely 18th-century château in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards. Country cottage

You will be warmly welcomed in this charming little castle by its charm and its location in a family winery, with a beautiful view of a wooded valley and the vineyards of Entre Deux Mers. You can visit the region easily: we are 25 km from Bordeaux, 25 km from Saint Emilion, 60 km from Bassin d'Arcachon, 70 km from Bergerac, 130 km from Sarlat.
Quiet environment with a first terrace of 27m / 6m and a second terrace with pool 10x5 (protection standards with alarm). All in a park and a flower garden.
Entrance hall serving on the ground floor a large living room, a billiard room, a dining room (table for 14 people), a small living room and a very nice fully equipped kitchen, with a large table and an adjoining pantry .
A beautiful stone staircase leads upstairs by a large landing serving the rooms:
- Basswood bedroom: large double bedroom with 1 bed of 180 and its mosaic bathroom.
- Val room: large double room with 1 bed 160, shower and washbasin.
- Rotunda room: lovely double room in a tower with 1 bed of 140 and an attached mosaic bathroom.
- Plane room: large room with 2 bunk beds (4 beds of 90), with washbasin.
-Bedroom Coca: room with 1 bunk bed (2 beds of 90), with washbasin.
- Pea Room: charming room with 1 bed of 90, and washbasin surrounded by mosaic.
-Possibility to add a cot crib.
An independent walk-in shower.
3 WC.
Library: books and comics. For adults and children.
Board Games.
Large screen TV 107cm. DVD player. DVD made available.
Linen provided: towels, sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, tea towels, tablecloths.
On the 1st terrace: barbecue (vines provided), plancha (gas). Large table and garden furniture.
On the 2nd terrace: swimming pool surrounded by a beach in exotic wood, garden furniture, sunbeds. Small pool hut.
We will be at your disposal, to help you, if you wish, during your stay. We will also offer you a visit of our cellars converted for centuries in underground quarries, and of course, a tasting of our wines!

Highly recommend - Château Lamothe de Haux

We had a great time at the lovely Chateau Lamothe. With a large group of family, we greatly appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, the beautiful outdoor areas including the pool, and the activities such as billiards and ping pong. We did find the bathroom situation tough to manage with 3 distinct family groups and one of the half baths being downstairs which required many to share the upstairs ones. The warmer nights were also tough with only windows for cooling (and mosquitoes) until we learned how to properly use the bug repellent electronic devices. We really appreciated the family run operation and getting to know Anne. She was lovely to chat with and provided a great tour of the winemaking including the unique underground cellars. We should also mention just how excellent their wines are! We bought quite a bit to share and some to take home. Overall we were very impressed and highly recommend staying here.

Un séjour magnifique dans les vignes

Très belle propriété familiale, rénovée avec soin. Je recommande cette très belle demeure de charme bien entretenue, le cadre est parfait pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis. Maria a été aux petits soins avec nous et nous a fait découvrir l’histoire du château et de ses vignes. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Un lieu chaleureux et un cadre magnifique

Nous avons passé trois jours au sein du jolie château du XVIII pour les fêtes de Noel. Nous n'avons pas été déçu. Une propriétaire très attentive à nos besoins, d'une disponibilité remarquable. Le château est impeccable. Nous n'avions qu'à poser nos valises et profiter de nos vacances. Nous avons eu une visite des carrières et du domaines viticoles qui fût très appréciée autant par les enfants que les adultes. Nous pensons revenir très rapidement dans ce charmant château

Fantastic French holiday home.

The week spent at this beautiful Château was truly magical. From the welcome introduction to the house, to the tour of the wine caves, vineyards and tasting, we all had such a lovely time. The kids loved the pool and playing pool. The house is a well loved family home and it was a pleasure to spend a week with Marie and her husband and not forgetting Simba the wonder-dog who kept us all entertained!
