This 1,680 sf home on a wooded lot in a rural subdivision is within walking distance of the Brazos River. 3 bedroom 2 bath home with large decks on both the front and back where guests enjoy the cool mountain air and views of the surrounding 3 acre wooded lot. Fully furnished with with a large kitchen, laundry facility, and a 12' x 24' fenced area for your pet. This owner offers a deep discount for weekly stays. There is a separate 3 bedroom apartment on site. It is usually vacant and maybe added to your rental upon request. Contact the owner for more information.

Great getaway

Peaceful and clean

This was perhaps the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. The cabin is located in a quiet mountain neighborhood, and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. It was a short walk to the river which had decent fishing for Rainbow trout.

The kitchen and dining room areas allow for visiting and dining with family. The location couldn’t be any better. Front and backporches are amazing. Comfortable outdoor seating on the porches. Deer walking by the house everyday. A variety of birds in the beautiful Forrest surrounding the house and the smell of pines. Quiet area. Perfect place toenjoy northern New Mexico and theMountains.

Relxaing retreat in the middle of summer.

This place was amazing. We enjoyed a refreshing relaxing week at the cabin. Plenty of deer and wildlife to keep us entertained while enjoying the awesome patios. The additional apartment was a huge bonus for us. The host was fantastic!

This property is located within 20 minutes of anywhere you would like to go in the Chama surrounding area. Surrounded by forest, we saw an incredible amount of wildlife from a short distance away. Easy access and very clean that supports a wonderful environment

Serene and Peaceful

My family and I had a wonderful time at your cabin. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect! You thought of everything one might need to enjoy a worry free stay! We loved the cabin! Very roomy, beautifully decorated, with thoughtful attention to detail. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Lots of puzzles, games and things to do. Really enjoyed a walk in the woods and down to the river.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Watching all the different wildlife walk right in front of the home. Property management was on point. We had a small issue and they were there within 15 minutes and had everything fixed and ready to go.

Great place to relax

We really enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin. Our group prefers a peaceful, natural setting…and we weren’t disappointed. The decks where we spent much of out time were spacious and the wildlife abundant. The house itself was perfect…clean, inviting and provided for all of our needs. It was a great combination of seclusion and convenience with Chama only about 20 minutes away. Valerie’s preparation of the house and attention to detail were evident and provided for a wonderful stay without any surprises or disappointments…so we were able to relax and enjoy to the fullest.

Why they chose this property

My husband Lee has a life long passion for elk hunting. He first came here in 1978, hunted many other places over the years, but continued to be drawn back to the Chama Valley area time and again and eventually bought property here in the Brazos Canyon. We had a 2nd home here and later became full time residents in what he calls his "favorite place in the whole United States".

What makes this property unique

The pace is slower here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Elevation is 8,000 ft and we enjoy an ideal climate with 4 distinct seasons. There is snow in the winter, summers are cool, with very little wind. Most days the sun shines, so combined with the dry climate, it's usually comfortable outdoors. The home has radiant heat under the floors for the winter and we don't even need air-conditioning here in the cool mountains.
