Stone Lodge (Sleeps 5)

Stone Lodge is a surprisingly spacious 17th century cottage which has recently been tastefully modernised and delightfully furnished. It is ideally located, close to the village square, shops, pubs and the steam railway.

On the ground floor the front door to the cottage leads into a small lobby and then the sitting room, which has two very comfortable modern sofas, one of which opens out to provide a sofa bed suitable for adults, teenagers or children. There is a very attractive inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove and traditional exposed stone walls. Beyond the sitting room there is a well equipped, fitted kitchen and a beautifully furnished dining room. Beyond the dining room is a stylish bathroom with a luxury “slipper” style bath with a “rain” shower, a basin and a W.C. Upstairs, there is a W.C. with hand basin and two bedrooms. The attractive main bedroom has a traditional brass double bedstead, while the second bedroom has a Trundle bed. This is a single bed, with a bed with folding legs, stored beneath it. The two beds can be put together making a small double bed or apart with a narrow gap between. A door from the kitchen leads to a pretty little enclosed garden. At the end of the garden there is a raised patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue.

Stone Lodge is a delightful cottage with a lovely modern charm. It is very well situated, cosy and welcoming and is a perfect home from home. Any traffic noise is much reduced by secondary double glazing in the windows facing the road.
