Our home sits on top of a quiet and secluded hill surrounded by 36 acres of forest and pasture. You will enjoy the spacious home with 3 bedrooms, a hot tub, dry sauna and in-ground pool (seasonal). Sip your morning coffee on the wrap around deck and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the Ozarks as it wakes up, gather around the unique circle fireplace on cool nights, relax in the pool or hot tub and marvel as you sit under a star-lit sky on a clear summer night in an open field around a bonfire. We also have a pond within easy walking distance. Perfect for weekends away with friends and family or stay longer and take in all that the Ozarks has to offer. We are 45 minutes from Springfield and 1.5 hours from Branson. Perfect for yoga and writer's retreats. Enjoy some quiet solitude, relax, unwind and take a deep breathe of fresh, country air. You deserve it!

Relaxing retreat

We had a wonderful time at Stonehorse Ranch. The house was nestled in the hills and trees surrounded by beautiful views and the peaceful sounds of birds and a rushing creek. This was a really nice property - wish we'd had longer to enjoy it! Very nice and well-stocked kitchen, patio area, pool, and sauna - plenty of entertainment. The house is definitely "retro" but very comfortable and private. There are some bugs around but honestly it wasn't too bad given the time of our visit - middle of the summer. I wouldn't have expected a place like this in the middle of the countryside.

Awesome quiet secluded country get away

Older home with some amazing unique amenities…i.e. swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, central room fireplace, will accommodate a large group, just to name a few. Great view, very private and wonderful hosts to deal with! Would recommend this place to anyone!

Relaxing atmosphere

We enjoyed a relaxing family vacation with our adult children. This out of the way property is beautiful, relaxing and welcoming. Nice and clean with plenty of room for our family of 4. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub daily after a day of sightseeing. This property is away from large cities but within an hour or less drive to the Lakes, Springfield & Branson. We enjoyed visiting wineries in nearby small towns and hiking at State Parks. I would highly recommend this home for your visit.

First class all the way. Beautiful clean property. We loved our stay here and highly recommend anyone wanting to stay here. Beautiful clean pool very well maintained. Hot tub also clean and worked well. A beautiful hammock grove was perfect for an afternoon nap. Every room in the house was clean and comfortable. The hosts were extremely gracious and kept in touch to make sure we were taken care of. One of the host Joe made sure all was well and you’ll enjoy his record collection and turn table. My family and I spent a long relaxing weekend at Stonehorse and it was wonderful! Everything was exactly as described. The house is spacious and was very clean. Plenty of space for everyone. I loved the little library of books and all the board games. Pool and hot tub were awesome! Amy was super helpful. What more could you ask for?

Second trip to Stonehorse Ranch

I had visited with friends a couple years ago and enjoyed it so much I came back with my adult children, 9 of us total. We loved the pool, the firepit, and the open area to throw a frisbee and play cornhole. The house is nicely stocked. We had plenty of room and very much enjoyed the privacy of the property. Amy responded quickly to the questions I had prior to our visit. All around great place! My kids want to return!

Always a fantastic time!

We’ve stayed at Stonehorse three times now and always love it. This year we brought our new one year old and he did great! I will note that the hosts did recently clean out stuff left behind by prior renters so things we’d found before in plenty supply like extra kitchen condiments, hair conditioner etc weren’t there—so come with your supplies (and the Dollar General right up the street will provide whatever you forget!) But certainly the house is well stocked with basics, including plenty of extra towels for the pool. Also great stargazing!

Officer Retreat

This was such an amazing place to bring my youth officers for our retreat this year. We had so much fun and made long lasting lifetime memories. This opportunity gave us the chance to bond together and let our officers build a strong bond as they work hard together this year. They were constantly in the pool and outside. Nice family getaway

We spent the new year holiday here with our young kids and another family. The house is great - stocked with everything you need and very spacious. The property is gorgeous and plenty of space for exploring. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna was an added bonus. Beds were comfortable with plenty of blankets etc. We had a great time! Only complaint is that the fireplace wasn’t working upon our stay but the owner notified us before we arrived. Would have been really nice to enjoy a fire in there! The hot tub is older and doesn’t get very hot but we still enjoyed it. A great family stay overall!

Girls Weekend

There were 10 ladies who stayed at your lovely home last weekend. We loved everything about it! We plan on making it a yearly thing! Well everything…except one thing… Did you know the front patio has huge flying beetles???? We had a fire in the fire pit and I guess they were attracted to the light because they made themselves known! It led to huge laughs and if the neighbors heard screaming, that was why. lol!! We do not even have any “tips for a better stay”. It was perfect. We will be back!!

Great location to get away

Relax in the country. Pool and sauna were amazing, unfortunately a couple of days before check-in we were told the hot-tub just crapped out. Too close to try and change plans and stay somewhere else, we were given a $100 refund due to no hot-tub. If you are afraid of spiders this one might not be for you though. The bunk house at the barn was filled with spiders and nobody wanted to sleep in there so one couple was relegated to the pull out couch. If you have enough guests where the pull out couch is needed, I'd bring a blow up bed as the pull out couch is not comfortable.

Anniversary Stay

The property was all as described and more. Everything was well maintained and clean. All the appliances worked and the cooling system in August was perfect. The internet never failed even with the weather we had during our stay. We loved the large windows that brought in the outdoors. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We had our morning coffee on the side deck off of the sunk living room area and BBQ in front enjoying another scenic view of the property. We would love to visit again during the cooler months so to take advantage of big bonfires, sauna, explore more of their acreage and maybe getting to explore the creek that runs through the property. It is all still there to explore now but outside the manicured property the rest is lush. This home would be a wonderful place to relax and make memories for couples, families and smaller groups. Great week away from it all

We really enjoyed our stay—especially the pool, the trees surrounding the house, and the ample space. The house and pool were clean. WiFi, dishwasher, TV, and washer/dryer were great. We felt very safe on the property. House was well stocked (plenty of towels, all the cookware we needed, to a of extra blankets). Comfy beds and furniture; fantastic porch. Some appliances needed some love (gas stove/oven was touchy and didn’t light on its own, fridges had trouble getting cold and one of the doors popped open frequently), but all of this was manageable. We couldn’t get the sauna to work and didn’t try the hot tub. We also didn’t go out to the stables; the only walk we took around the property we came across a ton of poison ivy so didn’t do any more exploring. Totally recommend this property for families with older kids or for groups of adults looking to disconnect and get away.

Country Solitude - Peaceful!!

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property for those looking to disconnect and relax! One item to note that was disappointing was the fireplace not working. The listing has since been updated which is great however for our stay it was not and our family was looking forward to sitting around the fire during our holiday stay. In searching other reviews it appears to have been an issue back to a Dec. 2020 stay. Advanced communication would have been apprecaited.

This farmstead has been in our family since the 70s. It has seen four children raised and many pets and livestock nurtured on its acreage. It has entertained both foreigners and locals with good country fun enjoying hot summers spent pool side and cold winters snuggled up around the fireplace or in the hot tub. All four children grew up in the community and graduated from the local school. We all now live in or around Springfield.

Why they chose this property

This property was purchased by our parents in the 70s and has everything you would want out of quiet country living with a few extra luxuries. We love to camp out under the clear night skies or play board games around the handmade table. Many years we spent riding and training horses that once lived on the acreage. It is rural but still only a 15 min drive to town to stock up on necessities. It is a beautiful place to make lasting memories with family and friends.

What makes this property unique

There is nothing better than waking to a cup of coffee and listening to the sounds of the Ozarks on the deck. This place is the definition of solitude and you will enjoy lazy, country days pool side or exploring the surrounding acreage. You will fall in love with the 360 degree fireplace and sunken living room with lots of quiet places to sneak away. You will have this home and 36 acres all to yourself.
