Canal Front Home on Wetlands facing Ocean - 10 Min Walk to Ocean - Kayaks too!!!
Lovely two story Cape Code style beach house with two private outdoor decks and doc on a canal that overlooks wetlands towards ocean. Great private views of the wetlands and bay wildlife and walking distance to the ocean make this house so unique.
Casual outdoor screened-in porch eating area equipped with new Weber grill best enjoyed while listening to evening waves crashing on the beach. Partial ocean view from second floor bedrooms as home is situated towards ocean with no obstructions. Newly refurbished kitchen, 2 NEWLY ADDED bathrooms, 2 renovated bathrooms and A/C. Beautiful sunrises and views from the spacious screened porch and deck, gorgeous renovated home, easy 10 minute walk to the beach, kayaking off the dock, close-by shopping and restaurants, a perfect family getaway!
We enjoyed a wonderful week in this peaceful home. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The host has everything you need for a great vacation, and the communication was excellent. The deck and screened in porch are functional and highlight the beautiful landscape. We would love to stay here again in the future!
The property was exactly as advertised. Plenty of space, rooms and outside space was huge. Lots to do. Will definitely be back to the S. Bethany area. Love the quiet area and easy access to the boardwalk via bikes.
The house was as advertised in a quiet community. Beach access was easy and was like having a private beach. We enjoyed our stay. Bedrooms are roomy. The remodeled bathrooms are finished well. We would stay here again.
This stay met all of our needs and was an absolutely wonderful trip! Some of our favorite parts about the home include how nice, clean, homey, and upscale the overall aesthetic inside is. the outside of the house is deceiving as you might expect more of a cabin/beach cottage experience. But the inside is really nice and looks brand new! The en-suite bathrooms were especially nice! We also loved how many bathrooms there were. Our family of 9 was able to get through showers after the beach extremely fast with 4 showers inside the house! Just watch as the water gets a bit cold after that much concurrent use. Other things we liked is the beds are extremely comfortable. The screened in porch and all outdoor seating/furniture is very nice as well. Inside air temps are great, the A/C works tremendously! The location right by the bay is perfect if you like nature and kayaking. We kayaked almost every day! Sunrises were especially beautiful with the view off the deck over the marsh. We also loved seeing he bikes and used them all week! The garage has tons of storage and is perfect for all your beach gear.
Some small things to improve would be getting more basic kitchenware, for example there was no measuring cups or measuring spoons, which made cooking at home difficult and we eyeballed to make it work. One other disadvantage is the access to the beach is a bit harder as you have to either drive, or bike to the community entrance and then walk across the highway, but it worked out!
We loved staying here - we brought our 3 month old son and it was perfect. Quiet and scenic, all rooms were clean and had new bathrooms. We recommend driving to York beach and having someone do a drop off vs walking to the beach. All in all, great trip!
The location of this house is beyond what I expected. The house is located directly on the canal, providing a beautiful, peaceful respite. The house is beautifully decorated and there were many extras and niceties awaiting us. We needed to call the property manager for a clogged toilet and he was there very shortly and solved the problem. The beds are very comfortable and we really appreciated the many bathrooms. The kayaks were in excellent condition and afforded beautiful views otherwise unseen. This was an excellent house to stay in and we had a wonderful vacation. Thank you!
This was perfect for our group of 7 adults. The bathroom updates are beautiful. We ate all our meals in the screened in porch and had sunset cocktails on the deck. The kitchen is very well appointed. It was a short walk to the beach which is not crowded at all on weekdays as it is south of the boardwalk area. The kayaks were fun to take out on the canal through the waterways. I highly recommend this rental!
Close to the beach
Close to things to do
Great activities at the house
Kayak. Ping pong etc
Amazingly few to zero bugs at the beach
Great house no issues whatsoever
Two weeks in this private, waterfront home could not have been more enjoyable. Sunsets, kayaking, bird-watching from the porch ……all within a few minutes from the beach.
This is a very nice property in South Bethany. This area is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. We've stayed here twice and the house has had some updates in 2022, including nice new bathrooms. Last I checked these were not shown in the photos for this listing. All furnishings are comfortable and there are many different spaces to use, inside and out. We very much enjoyed sitting out on the deck and using the screened portion of the deck - very relaxing space to hang out.
A couple things to note-
It's not easy to get in and out of the kayaks onto the dock if you have any agility or strength issues. There are no handles to grab or steps on the dock to assist.
We always drove up to the community parking area to walk across to the beach, we found the walk from the house to be a bit too long/ far for us. The walk from the parking area is fine.
Good property in need of some TLC.
The dock should be replaced. The decking is loose in multiple locations and is dangerous.
The screen room is nice. The screen door needs some work to open and close.
bikes and kayaks were great addition.
A nice place to stay, good location, nice quite neighborhood.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was tastefully decorated in beach decor and well equipped. After a wonderful day at the beach (only a 10-min walk away), we loved coming home to the relaxing view by the canal. We were amazed at the variety of wildlife we saw everyday. The screened in porch was well loved by the entire family from breakfasts to evening games. The local management was very quick to remedy the air conditioning situation in the master bedroom. In less than 2 hours, we were 100% taken care of.
Great house, nice community. Thanks for use of bikes and kayaks, very nice. The walk to the beach is a bit challenging, even when using the neighborhood parking area, especially for those not in those young adult years! The upstairs sitting room that doubled as a bedroom for our young adult sons was not very cool, it could stand its own air conditioner unit like the one in the master bedroom which is wonderful! Kitchen is very well stocked with the exception of enough forks and spoons. Nice remodel to the kitchen and bathrooms. Overall a great place to stay!

We enjoyed the location and the house was comfortable.
Two complaints: basement bathroom wasn't clean and the central air for upstairs didn't work properly. The upstairs was quite warm the whole time. The ac issue is the reason for 3 stars. Outside deck area was very nice and peaceful. Spent quite a bit of time on the deck.

Some things to be aware of but a nice place overall
Well maintained house in a quiet neighborhood with great sunsets and peaceful views. Beach access could be a little better (my sister in law was staying in another house in the same neighborhood and they had some permits to park close to Rt. 1?) but the stretch of beach... once you hiked to it, was great, practically private. Well equipped kitchen (wine fridge and real glassware is a nice touch) and a good selection of beachware. Also the kayaks were great.
Our issues: The house definitely needs some mosquito/bug control. Made the outside areas hard to enjoy, and they constantly swarmed the cars and back deck. We also had a few maintenance problems during our stay (Glen took care of the major one pretty quickly).
Another thing to note. Don't forget to bring your own sheets and towels. YES, it's in the contract. I suggest that the owners/Glen include this as a reminder in the "welcome" e-mail OR offer to coordinate a linen package for an additional fee. We made do thanks to the generosity of the owners who dropped off some towels and the Rehoboth Bed Bath & Beyond.

Doors were broken, gas grill didn’t work great
Doors were broken, gas grill didn’t work properly and it looks like the back porch area was going to be enclosed at one point but it was never finished.

Wonderful home in a great location
Our family had a very enjoyable stay at this home. The location was terrific being in South Bethany and right on the canals. The view from the deck across to the wetlands area was beautiful, especially at sunrise. A favorite spot was sitting out in the comfortable chairs on the deck with morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Access to the state park beach is a walk across route 1 and through the dunes. Perfect for our family, but something to consider if you tend to bring a lot of gear to the beach with you.
Amenities were much appreciated, especially the kayaks and bicycles which are all in excellent condition. The ping pong table was fun too!
The house was clean and well cared for. The layout was great, allowing for comfortable sleeping (comfortable beds!) and spaces for people to be together or find a little private time. The kitchen is large and well appointed, making meal prep and dining easy. You have options to eat inside or outdoors - which is great. Screens would have been nice on the outdoor deck, to make sure people don't get eaten while eating. The mosquitoes were busy. The only reason we left off one star is that a few things in disrepair which caused some inconvenience. The dishwasher and grill were not working properly, and there were some nail pops on the decks that had the potential to injure little feet.
Those inconveniences aside, our experience was excellent and we highly recommend this home if you want to have a lovely vacation in a beautiful spot. The owners of this property obviously love their home - and are extremely thoughtful and gracious in sharing their space through VRBO.

Excellent location to view wildlife
We had a wonderful week in this comfortable house. Everything we needed was available -- including bikes and kayaks. We enjoyed walking and biking to the beach, but our favorite activity was kayaking in the marshes to watch the birds. We also took some amazing photos of the egrets and a great blue heron right from the deck. The house is older, but well maintained. The new kitchen is beautiful and functional and includes a wine fridge! One bathroom has been renovated and the upstairs bathroom is partially renovated. We had some minor issues when we arrived (incorrect code, broken toaster) but the property maintenance person, Glen, was very nice and helpful. We hope to return.
