Love and soul went into the furnishings and housewares for this lovely SOUTH FACING HEATED POOL home. Landscaping includes palms even in the pool area. Décor and furnishings are coastal, colorful and comfy with the idea of relaxing and entertaining. The heated salt water pool is so much healthier for your body and skin (no more strong smell of chlorine on your skin). Enjoy the photo tour of the home and watch for Katie, our Labrador as she accompanies you. She wants to show off the new home. We love dogs and wish to accept your dog. Please list the number of dogs, breed, weight and age of your dog. The home is kept very clean, updated CDC standards. Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us.
PLEASE NOTE, WE REQUEST THAT YOU BOOK WITHIN SAME CALENDAR MONTH - 30-31 DAYS. IF YOU NEED MORE THAN THE CALENDAR MONTH, PLEASE SEND US A MESSAGE AND WE WILL SEE IF WE CAN ACCOMMODATE. NO SMOKING ALLOWED IN HOME OR IN THE SCREENED PATIO AND POOL AREA. No exceptions. Quiet road, nicely tucked in the neighborhood near the beach adding to the tranquility. FENCED backyard around the perimeter of the property for pets (outside of the large screened in pool cage/patio called a lanai).
Pool is both solar and electrically heated for efficiency, 504 square feet, 30,000 gallons, not the typical Florida tiny pool and it is situated in an 1800 square foot lanai plus patio. (NOTE as of 10.16.24: Our solar system is down and being repaired due to the winds of Hurricane Milton. Please inquire if it is fixed yet. We do have a huge electric heater which is an add on for the stay if you wish to pay that electricity.) South facing pool gets lots of sun (avoid north facing pools). Lounge in the sun, swim in the sun, (shade yourself in the covered patio next to the pool), and you are in a garden protected from bugs by the large screened lanai. At night, landscaping lights turn on automatically and the pool & patio area become an evening sanctuary. A FUN FEATURE in the hot season (Mid-April – September)…. the pool is lovely to swim at nighttime because of the tropical wonderland created by the night landscape lights and the inside pool light.
Patio includes 3 chaise lounges, a six-person table and chairs with pads, a sofa, coffee table, several other patio chairs and side tables. There is an abundance of beach/pool towels for the patio furniture (in addition to plenty of bath towels). All chairs have pads except those that would be lounging in the elements by pool side (for sanitary reasons and rain that would ruin them). Abundance of towels. Upon request, if needed ask for one more chaise lounge and/or patio umbrella a week prior to arrival. The outdoor grill includes counter space and a sink and bar refrigerator.
This lovely 1750 square foot home (3-bedroom 2-bath plus den) is on a quiet street in Bay Point neighborhood, one street from the bay. Great walking neighborhood. Enjoy the built-in gas grill, outdoor kitchen, covered patio dining and lounge area which is like the outdoor room of the home and is very tranquil.
WE HAVE KAYAKS and you can walk them on those portable 2-wheel carriers provided to the end of our street and put them into Lyons Bay at a little neighborhood park, very close to the North Jetty. There are 3 amazing bays here close in the neighborhood all connecting to each other. Besides our 2 kayaks, you can rent additional kayaks at the North Jetty – about 3 minutes away. We also offer two beautiful bicycles with helmets and bike locks for your use.
The entire home is on one floor with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full living room (L-shape sofa) plus a den with another sofa and TV and space for the air mattress, plus the huge patio/pool lanai is really like the additional family room with another sofa there. There are two desks for those traveling with laptops and of course, password secured Wi-Fi. The one floor home has a split bedroom floorplan, master bedroom on one side of the home and additional two bedrooms on the other. Bed configuration is King, Queen, 2 Twins plus an electric inflatable queen air mattress (for the family room). There are extra sheets and blankets to accommodate this.
The doors open double wide to the screened pool and patio area (just turn the A/C off if you love the walk out feeling). There are 3 amazing high-resolution Samsung SMART TVs in the home (55" in the living room, 43" in the family room and 50" in the master). DVR on TV. The living room sofa is made for a family to curl up together and watch a movie and there is a Blu-ray player in that room if you can pull the family away from the lanai. At night, the palm trees in the lanai light up and you can see the stars above the pool. There are some floating toys for the pool and puzzles, games and books in the home. Beach gear in the garage - great beach sand umbrella and 4 chairs and a cooler for the beach.

There are many other restaurants in the vicinity. You can even kayak to Pops Restaurant or Nokomis Beach - just carefully secure our kayaks. Suggestion: Enjoy Drum Circle Wednesday and Saturday nights on the beach through sunset. Then head over to Pops for a fun blue fire lit dinner on your outdoor table. It’s seldom a wait if you join a group of strangers and you can have your own intimate dinner at the table or share ideas of what to do and see. There’s a huge next section of private tables and another area for additional music. Drive or bike the Casey Key to the Casey Key Fish House. The outdoor bar water view is amazing and there is often live music. You can take a short drive back on Tamiami Trail unless you wish to view the multi-millionaire homes with the lights on at night on the Casey Key road.
Walk to Nokomis Beach in a little over a mile. Accessories include 4+ beach chairs and a nice Tommy Bahama beach umbrella, many beach towels. Drive to Nokomis Beach a little over 2 minutes - Yes, it's CLOSE! Kayak to Nokomis Beach on Casey Key from the end of our block in 1/5 of a mile paddling. Check out Hoop or yoga class on the beach in the morning, fishermen on the Jetty, Drum Circle on Wed. and Sat. nights on the beach at sunset, hunt for shark teeth (a sifter screen in the garage), and watch surfers when the surf is up.
Nothing to bring except your suitcase and pick up food at the amazing Publix Grocery store close to the house. They have a great bakery, deli, fish and meat market and produce department along with a good selection of wine and beer. Our kitchen has just about anything you need to cook. We have organizer baskets for each guest for the bathroom, night lights to navigate when people are sleeping. We have a regular coffee pot and a Keurig and even a water boiling pot for tea as well as a blender and Magic Bullet (which can double as a coffee grinder), barbecuing utensils and great cookware if you are putting on a holiday dinner. We have pretty coordinated dishware and placemats.
Note about pools and heaters: If the daytime temperature isn't getting close to 80 and the nighttime temperature is going below 60s, any pool will struggle to get as warm as you would like it to be. November and December, especially can be unpredictable. Some weeks are very warm and sometimes the weather just gets too cool at night. It can widely vary from one week to the next.
The place is organized and we leave lots of helpful information. We have infrastructure of a handyman, a housekeeper, a pool man and a yard man that regularly visit and we are just a call or text away if you need something.
We hope you'll choose our home for your vacation. We believe you will want to return each year to this special place, as so many guests wish upon departure. As we share our home, we ask that you care for it as if it were your own.
