Located in a peaceful residential area, only 10 minutes' walk to the town centre, this bright self-contained studio offers a calm space with ample modern comforts. It has its own entrance and private parking, cosy and convenient for shops and amenities. The town and its ancient charms are a leisurely stroll away, and an effortless drive will take you to beauty spots & places of interest nearby. It is an ideal base for relaxing and exploring, and makes a perfect stopover to recharge and refresh.
The studio is self-contained and offers self-catering accommodation. It has been newly refurbished to a high standard, and comprises of:
A living/bedroom - newly refurbished, featuring a daybed (single) which can be extended into a KING SIZED bed, furnished with high quality bedding and able to generously accommodate 2 adults. There is a large chest of draws together with hanging spaces equipped with clothes hangers and hanging shelves, which provide plenty of storage for clothing and belongings. The top of the chest of draws can act as desk top surface for work. A massaging and heating armchair with a footrest to unwind and relax in, and a high backed chair for general use, are also included.
En suite - composed of a toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail, mirror and shower unit, equipped with Egyptian cotton face, hand and bath towels, toilet paper, shower gel, and shampoo. A hair dryer is also provided.
Kitchenette and diner - newly furnished with a microwave, fridge, electric kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, cutlery, crockery, washing machine, ironing board, and iron. Other essentials provided include tea (breakfast and herbal), coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast cereals, biscuits, jams, honey, marmalade, lemon curd, salt, pepper, margarine, bread, and milk. Also provided are liquid soap, washing up liquid, tea towel, washing powder, fabric conditioner and various cleaning detergents and accessories.
Private entrance - the private entrance is at the side of the studio which leads to the studio door via the conservatory.
Parking – generous parking space in front of the studio.
Others - guests benefit from excellent WiFi connection and mobile signal.
The Studio is conveniently situated in a peaceful cul-de-suc with 10 minutes' walk to the town centre. Its neighbourhood is safe and quiet throughout the day and is well lit at night. It is very safe for single travellers, as well as couples who want peace, quiet and the convenience of having the amenities near the doorstep.
The Studio is well connected with roads to different parts of the town, well lit at night and catered with ample pavements for walkers. It is an ideal location for exploring the Saxon Hill Top Town of Shaftesbury on foot, without the stress of traffic and parking.
There is a convenience store nearby, the local supermarket is also within easy reach. There is a variety of good cafes, pubs and restaurants in town; in particular 'The Salt Cellar' which is a gourmet cafe on the top of Gold Hill, where you can enjoy both the picturesque setting and the delicious food at the same time! If you are interested in the local artisan's works, then have a visit to shops and Galleries in The Swan's Yard on the High Street, which is the hub of creativity. The town hall hosts regular craft and antique fairs, and once a month the 'Cobble Street Market' takes place on the high street, where you can feast on local produces and crafts. The local information is readily available in the Tourists Information on Bell Street. While visiting Gold Hill, why not venture a little further to PARK WALK, where you'll fully enjoy one of the best scenery in Dorset!
The studio is a brilliant base to attractions outside of Shaftesbury too; The Stonehenge, the Spire of Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum, National Trusts properties Stourhead and Kingston Lacey, Rockborne Roman Villa, Sherborne Abbey, Avebury Stones Circles etc, are all within an easy drive away. Close by, the stunning views on Wingreen on the edge of the town, the idyllic setting of Compton Abbas Air Field, Lama Tree estate, Wardour all a short scenic drive away.
From the Studio, you are able to explore Shaftesbury, getting to supermarket, shops pub, cafes and restaurants on foot.
The Studio also has excellent access to roads to nearby towns, cities and places of interest.
It takes maximum 3 minutes from the Studio to get onto A30 and A350 which can take you to the cathedral city of Salisbury, The mystical Stonehenge, the elegant town and Abbey of Sherborne, the rail links in Warminster, the Georgian town of Blandford, the seaside havens of Poole and Bournmouth... all well within an hour's drive. The nearest point to join A303 is enroute to East Knoyle on the A350, 5 miles from Shaftesbury, explore Wiltshire to the Northeast or go further Southwest to Somerset and Devon. There is an infrequent bus service from the street outside, and the closest train station is in Gillingham, 4 miles away from Shaftesbury on the B3081, where an hourly service to London Waterloo and Exeter St. David's is run by Southwestern trains. B3081 also takes you to another area of natural beauty; the Cranborne Chase, where you will enjoy the serene scenery and the lush woodland walks.
