Your Oceanside Place At LBI

You'll LOVE your immaculate condo across the street from the beach, 200 feet away in the heart of Beach Haven's historical district. Veterans Bicentennial Park just 300 feet away has FREE concerts every Wednesday. Bring a blanket, beach chairs, provided, or just open your windows and dance! In season the park also hosts fairs and festivals. Walking distance to the amusement park, water park, ice cream shoppes, antique shoppes, Murphy's Market, Surflight Theater, casual and fine dining, as well as dance clubs & Tiki bars. You simply can't get a better location, location, location!!

The Bungalow was a Victorian B&B. In 2014 it was gutted to the beams to make eight condominiums. We are the first and only owners. We are on the second floor. Completely redecorated and painted for the 2023 season. We ask for a minimum seven (7) day rental but you'll want to stay longer and that's subject to availability. Hurry this books fast!!

Your bedroom and kitchenette/living room have new flat screen televisions. Free WiFi and cable. Your living room/kitchenette (two induction burners, convection/toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, microwave, full size refrigerator and kitchen sink) combo has a queen pull out sofa with a plush mattress topper. The bedroom boasts a Sterns and Foster queen mattress. For cleanliness, mattress' have protectors. We ask that you bring your own linens, pillows, towels, paper goods, toiletries. You'll have free washers & dryers, BBQ grill, great patio furniture & an outdoor shower. 4 beach badges and 4 beach chairs are provided. We offer 2 beach cruisers and helmets to be used at your own risk.

The listing was just as advertised. It was clean, easy to access, and even though it was an extremely hot week, I was always comfortable in the apartment. The location in Beach Haven could not be beat. JoAnn was very responsive leading up to my reservation. I would absolutely stay there again.

Unfortunately when we entered the lobby there was an awful dirty smell going up the stairwell to the unit probably the old carpet and the walls were dirty. We enter the unit and and it reeked of cigarette smoke so I had to clean and disinfect the entire apartment.. It still had strong orders throughout the entire stay. The apartment looked clean, beach decor and updated. It’s a shame once cigarette smoke gets imbedded into the walls and furniture it’s there for good. I rented a unit on the 1st level a few years ago at The Bungalow and it was clean and updated and enjoyable to stay. It’s ironic because I never saw so many “No Smoking” signs posted throughout the establishment. Hopefully the HOA can clean and update the hallway and the owner can look into some kind of resolution for the cigarette smoke residue. Other than all that we still enjoyed being down in amazing Beach Haven.

I do appreciate your recognizing that the place is newly renovated with beautiful beach decore, freshly painted walls, and updated bath for the 2022 season. Of course, I was very upset so I looked into your complaint. It seems there was work being done on the inside and on the roof of the building. The smell wasn't cigarettes. I was told that the machineries left behind an odor. To follow up I went to my place with my cleaning person upon your check out. The smell dissipated but we gave it a good scrubbing and I can assure you that there's no smell. I'm sure your friend on the 1st floor can confirm this for you. This was our first time using VRBO. The process was easy and convenient. The condo was very clean and exactly what we were looking for. Location was beyond perfect! We were able to walk everywhere. So much potential!

We came prepared and brought sheets, toilet paper and Scott towels. Once arrived we also needed to but garbage bags - so be sure to pack them! Bed was comfortable. Sofa bed was good for our two children but it would be too small for an adult. Cottage was cute and JoAnn was very responsive. Lots of great beach stuff to borrow. Cleaners should have done a better job between tenants bc bathroom mirror, shower and refrigerator were dirty. Location is ideal.

A very cute and clean condo. However, we are a couple in our 70’s and the stairs were a challenge . We should have looked for 1st floor accommodations. We also had to park around the corner and were afraid to move the car for fear of not finding another spot. The condo was great but not for us.

Disappointing accomodations

Overall, the accomodations were very disappointing. The listing is misleading by both description and photos. There is no mention of the unit being on the second floor. Both my husband and I have knee problems and this was inconvenient at best. There is no deck and the patio is a common area on ground level. Street parking is available only on adjoining streets. The inside was in need of a thorough cleaning. There was loose garbage under the can liner in the kitchen, the coffee cups in the cabinet were dirty, drawers in the bedroom were dirty, dusty and had food crumbs in them. In addition it was poorly outfitted with even the basics. There was one bed pillow (sleeps 4?), a shabby and faded bed cover, no paper goods (except partial roll of toilet paper), bedroom lamp had no bulb, no ice cube trays and no light fixture on the ceiling fan in the living room. Proximity to the beach is the one outstanding positive feature although it is clearly not ocean front, as listed.

Unpleasant experience

When we got to the place, all we had were the key codes to get into the building. We weren’t told where to find the key to get into our condo. When I messaged JoAnn about where to find the key, she didn’t get back to us until the next day. Luckily we were able to find the key on our own without any direction. When we got into the condo, there was a pair of dirty pants and other clothing left from the previous tenant. One night, we wanted to grill. We turned the grill on to cook and there was no propane, so we had to use a griddle that we brought from home. When we asked JoAnn to fill the propane, she said it should be full. The grill wouldn’t get over 175 degrees, so it was impossible to make anything on it. On the last night, someone was making the pull out bed and accidentally broke the fan light cover. We were willing to pay for a replacement light cover, but JoAnn decided to buy a whole new and more expensive fan and took our entire security deposit. She could’ve bought a $20 light cover and returned us the remaining deposit. When we asked her about this, she said that we would have to supply the light cover and mail it to her. This was with 3 days notice, so we didn’t even have enough time to replace it. Overall, the place was in a great area and close to the beach, but she needs to more accessible, give more information, and treat the tenant better, since we’re paying a lot of money to stay at her place.

Hi Michael, Hope all is well. Your girlfriend, Danielle, told me that the BRAND NEW ceiling fan globe had gotten broken while she was making the sofa bed. In all my years of making the beds neither my long time cleaning woman, Danyell, nor myself have ever come even CLOSE to hitting the fan. I would imagine that is because of the 10' ceilings. I was baffled!! But then the guest after your stay complained about the sofa bed being below average. After consulting with my guest it became obvious what had happened; the children must have been jumping on the bed. This allowed not only for the globe to be broken but for the bed frame to bend. As far as the clothes on the floor; Danyell just cleaned. Shes been with me for years and also owns a unit in the building. As you can see EVERY review specifically states the the condo is clean and Danyell had JUST finished cleaning. Your next complaint was the grill. The grill was checked out immediately and was in good working order. Im sorry you had an unpleasant experience, but look at the bright side, Im not charging you for the sofa bed;)!! Nicest location in Beach Haven.

JoAnn's place was beautiful and JoAnn was so responsive and helpful. The condo itself had a great warm and beachy feel. Everything was new and updated and the mattress in the bedroom was top of the line. The location was unbelievable. we were across the street from the beach as well as this beautiful Park . Everything was in walking distance from this great local supermarket to all of the bars and restaurants. I am definitely planning to stay there again.
