You literally look out onto your own private valley of woodland and olive groves. This holiday house offers tranquility, seclusion and relaxation but also with the option to explore nearby mountain villages, enticing restaurants, a variety of lovely beaches and exciting towns like Sanremo & Monaco. Our customers have been delighted with the house and location. We have worked to make comfort, decor and facilities a high factor and this makes this holiday home above the normal standards. Cleaning is included in the price for the normal cleaning requirements. We use eco products for cleaning and laundry. Pick from our herb patch for your food preparation. Enjoy our books, music, games, art materials and media. Wifi available . This is the ideal location for artists, writers, birdwatchers, nature lovers and those who want an escape from modern life yet within a cosy, comfortable and stylish home - a unique and undiscovered treasure waiting for you to enjoy. The unspoilt views as you step onto our large terrace are spectacular - looking westwards towards France, its as though you have the whole valley and spectacular sunsets all to yourself! The house has traditional features yet with modern comforts and with above average decor. The house is situated at the end of a short no- through street in a tiny hamlet.. literally on the edge of an amazing forested valley looking westwards towards the French Maritime Alps. You are greeted each morning by birdsong all around the valley. Nature is abundant here and the valley is full with bird and animal life, butterflies and springtime wild flowers are all around. We supply binoculars and nature guides. The Mediterranean Sea is just out of view. The stunning church in Berzi is just a few steps away. You can really feel like you have found total peace here - though you are still a quick 10 min drive away from Bajardo ( restaurants bars shop, deli, local produce stall , 20 mins to Ceriana ( chemist, more food shops, restaurants, bars etc ) 25 mins to Apricale and 45 mins to the coast. It feels like a privilege to stay in such a small quiet traditional village, you can wonder about undisturbed and feel like time has not passed, there are virtually no cars and definitely no stress. The night skies allow for unspoilt star gazing from one of our various terraces. The very unique location and beautiful views from Casun Barun are it’s biggest assets but special touches around the home also make the house really stand out. Whilst you have the beauty of the outside we have also considered the time you spend indoors, with comfortable interior decor using style & imagination, quality, traditional items, antiques, art and pieces from all over the world. This is truly not ‘just another holiday let ‘ with bland standard rooms & the same furnishings that you see everywhere else! We use this house as our home for some months each year so we have made it very comfortable and with a pleasant decor - this is somewhere you can relish and indulge on beautiful things inside and out! We regret that the layout of the house and the surrounding uneven terraces are not ideal for children under 12 or disabled people. There are art materials and an *easel for anyone feeling artistic (* please request as it is stored away ) . There is a small library with books and magazines ( Mostly English ) and a writing desk for use. There are plenty of places inside and out just to sit and soak up the amazing views. We can consider longer rentals for writers, artists etc - please contact us for more information. On arrival you will find a small welcome basket of kitchen basics, milk, butter, bread etc and some complementary snacks, our gift to you to celebrate your first evening as our guests. We aim for your comfort and therefore we supply comfy memory foam beds, choices of pillow types, hotel quality towels, spa robes, hand picked designer bed linens, spare toiletries ( in case you have forgotten any ) and also a mini first aid kit. These touches of luxury add to the special flavour of our home and to your enjoyment. Layout: The ground floor has a lounge with 2 sofa beds, kitchen, shower room / toilet and small utility. The upstairs has two interconnected bedrooms, one with a luxury super king bed, connected to a room with a toilet and sink. The lounge is now a year round haven- cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. We supply a fantastic Jotel wood burner for cooler evenings. ( There is an extra charge for fuel ) There is also a king size sofa bed with memory foam mattress in the lounge. There are extra linens and cushions and towels for outside chairs stored in a trunk. The upstairs bedrooms are comfortable and stylish and are entered via a separate outside entrance. There is a choice of pillows for your your comfort and plenty of blankets for cooler evenings. For the days when you feel like exploring beyond the village there are many trips that can be made, whether up to the nearby mountain peaks, exploring other historic villages, visiting antiques markets, art galleries, the buzzing glamour & shopping & sights of Sanremo, Menton or Monaco, the beautiful Hanbury Gardens, local cultural festivals, wild swimming in rock pools - there is so much to see and do. The nearby mountain roads are generally very quiet but they are curvy so please drive with due care ( beep horn approaching corners ) - it’s a definite different approach than hectic city driving! We will supply as much local & current information as possible for what’s on in the region during your stay. Petit coin de paradis... Idéal pour un couple... mais pas pour une famille (à date)
Situé au bout du hameau, sur une crête, le paysage est de toute beauté et d'un calme absolu.
Les nuits étoilées sont préservées et le petit sentier longeant la maison vous permettra de rencontrer écureuil et chevreuil endormi...
La région est magnifique mais il s'agit de montagnes et pour atteindre la mer ou les piscines naturelles une petite heure sera nécessaire sur des routes de montagnes.
Le logement sur deux niveaux (N+1 et N-1) est composé d'une chambre dans l'ancien grenier et d'une cave agrandie servant de séjour et de cuisine aménagés avec gout. Le niveau de plein pied n'est pas mis à disposition du gite.
A date, le gite est idéal pour un couple... possible avec des enfants mais les couchages complémentaires dans le salon sont peu confortables (canapés lit). Les appuis de fenêtre à l'étage (en dessous du genoux) ne sont pas sécurisés et nécessitent une surveillance de chaque instant pour des enfants (fenêtre donnant sur la terrasse deux étages plus bas).
En bout de crête, la vue est splendide mais les extérieurs sont plus restreints : agréable terrasse permettant de déjeuner mais le reste du jardin en contrebas est composé d'anciennes terrasses agricoles (champ d'olivier) - charmantes mais non compatibles avec des enfants [l'accès sécurisé des terrasses permet d'en interdire l'usage].
Les propriétaires sont adorables et leur gite en amélioration continue.

Nous avons été ravis d’accueillir cette famille et ils étaient très agréables et ont laissé le logement dans un état impeccable. Nous avons renseigné la famille avant son arrivée sur la vigilance nécessaire pour l’aménagement des chambres et les terrasses. Merci pour vos commentaires réfléchis
Il y a eu des familles auparavant avec de jeunes enfants qui ont passé un séjour heureux au chalet. Nous savions donc que si les enfants étaient surveillés, c’était à la discrétion des parents. Cordialement,
Nous avons séjourné en famille - deux adultes, deux enfants de 12 et 15 ans - durant une dizaine de jours à Berzi, dans la maison de Susan et Stuart. C'est la dernière du dernier bout du village de Berzi, lui-même perdu au milieu des collines en terrasse de la Ligurie. Entourée d'oliviers et de silence, la maison a le charme des lieux atypiques que nous aimons. Les matins y sont d'une tranquillité rare, j'ai fait du yoga chaque matin au milieu des oliviers, nous avons lu, dessiné, joué. La maison est la dernière du village et elle est située près d'une magnifique église.
Nous sommes allés nous promener et nager dans la rivière à Rocchetta Nervina. Le village de Bajardo, à 8 minutes en voiture de la maison, propose d'excellents restaurants où l'on mange très bien, loin du tourisme de masse, une épicerie correcte qui ouvre les matins, une dame propose ses produits régionaux également. Tout en haut de Bajardo, il faut monter voir l'église détruite par un tremblement de terre en 1887. Le lieu est sublime.
Nous voudrions beaucoup revenir au printemps ou en automne, lorsque la température est plus clémente pour faire de longues balades dans les forêts luxuriantes de la région.
Pour clore, Susan et Stuart sont très accueillants et chaleureux, répondent très vite aux questions envoyées par email et l'on se sent chez eux comme chez soi mais en vacances dans un lieu rare.
