Historic Chateau in the french countryside of North Dordogne
Nestling in a quiet French Hamlet, is Chateau Gros Puy (Big Hill) with a medieval turret, beautiful gardens and an elevated view to die for. A fairy tale you might think, but one brought to life by a British family that loves France and particularly this part of the Périgord-Limousin Natural Regional Park in northern Dordogne. This historical property has been renovated to retain many of it’s original features with its 13th century tower & chapel and thick granite walls, vast rooms and cavernous fireplaces, stunning terrace overlooking lakes, fields and forests and an abundance of nearby villages, towns and famed attractions. Come and relax in this character property with its plunge pool and gardens, play boules, practise your archery skills or just soak up the sun with tea and scones or wine. Take strolls amidst the lakes and woodlands or venture further afield to explore the route taken by Richard the Lion Heart. Eat and drink like a King (or Queen) with the cuisine and wine that this region is world renowned for. Visit abbeys and churches and other nearby chateaus. And when your day is done relax on the terrace as the clouds drift by and everyday stresses melt away. You, like us will fall under the spell of Chateau Gros Puy and leave feeling refreshed, replenished and reflecting on memories to cherish forever more.
